THAT IS A SHORT SITED VIEW A PROPER FAN SUPPORTS THE CLUB. lIKE ANYONE ELSE we know its a difficult time but its not boring drivel as you suggest its the club trying to keep the fans up to date on the way they see going foreward. Just saying what I see, the club is just putting out crap about youth players and photos of Lewis Obrien when he was 12! That and other little snippets coming out such as how proud they were that apparently youth 7 players played against Millwall (whilst failing to mention that's why we got spanked). Its bullshit, some of us can see it, others not. The tone of the comms from the club has changed a fair bit I've noticed, nothing like it was a year or so ago. Not sure why that is, maybe Phil is doing the Twitter feed too Some info on the new management team wouldn't go miss for example, the new coach has announced it himself but nothing from the club whatsoever. you are entitled to your view as you see it

If club's ran based on the ambition of fans, they'd all be bust. Newcastle would bust the whole bloody economy 😄 Not necessarily about spending the money, If we bring in 5 under 21 kids with decent pedigree then at least that shows something. Im not against playing the youngsters..... Its just not these youngsters, the ones they are pushing never look like they will be good enough except maybe one or two and the younger ones need a good loan move. Which is why they've already arranged loan moves for 2 of players who played at Millwall, with more to come no doubt. If you read (or listen) to the complete articles on the young players we have, then you you will hear that there is a plan to loan the youngsters out to give them the experience of playing "men's football". There's no plan to have a first team squad full of the current academy players at the start of this season, if we're lucky 4 of them might make the grade in time for next season.

In which case the club will have to show some ambition for the here and now and that may keep the support at the 20k level. You can see how much interest in the club has died off already, this transfer thread would be well over 100 pages by now in any of the past 5 years.

Danny Ward would be so underwhelming, I didn't think much of him the first time he was here. Hope to be proven wrong but if that's the sort of player we are bringing in good luck Carlos.

Good signing. Knows the league, experienced, covers AM or out wide and offers goals from midfield. No brainer.

If Danny Ward suggestion has any truth to it I wouldn’t be disappointed. Weirdly once I knew we were getting CC I was thinking what sort of striker we could get that was in the Bamford mould and Danny Ward came into my head.
He has changed as a player since we had him. He would be signed as a CF I am sure as he has played for Cardiff who I might add saw fit to start him in that role in the playoff semi.
If we are gonna follow the Leeds playing style he is the type of CF we will be after. Wether he is the best we could get is down to peoples opinion but I think it would be a good option.
On the other side it could be rubbish but I still think he’s the “type” of CF we will go for. Decent in the air but mobile with the ability to harass a CB or 2.

Said we should take him back last year only to get the usual smart ar5e5 telling me how ridiculous that would be. 18 goals later they’ve gone a bit quiet. Danny Ward. Not overwhelming but I’d say a solid signing and a good start

And fairly quick and with a howitzer for a left foot. I always wondered how he'd have gone on under Wagner as he was a better all round footballer than Nakhi or Kachunga

I'm not a expert on club finances but as far as can see a quick glance at the previous two seasons balance sheets shows that although town appear to be in the black there is a dramatic fall in that balance from the previous season. It seems that Covid 19 has affected and will continue to affect the way not just town but many clubs look to the future in order to preserve their status as going concerns. So looking at the academy is possibly the start of a new strategy this doesn't mean they won't invest outside but as someone pointed out we need to unload some dead wood first. And that's absolutely fine as long as they are not too heavily reliant upon it and why ram it down fans throats all the time? Just produce these super players, stick em in the first team squad and let us see with our own eyes what brilliant youth players we have. I've heard it all before and I dont need the club patronising me and telling how great it was that we had 7 academy players in the squad (most/all of whom will never make championship players) whilst getting tonked by a workmanlike Millwall side the season after relegation from the richest league in the world. Its bollocks. We had 7 players in the squad because the club wanted to prove some sort of ridiculous point. Just wish Id have had money on a heavy defeat because it was nailed on as soon as you heard Schofield's interview. Missed a trick there, not often you see a professional football club play a weakened team. Bang on. The kids have to be good enough.. other than O’Brien I haven’t see one that looks good enough to make the step.. YET. We have to get a lot of new players in and give the best youngsters the odd game to help with their development but we cannot think they are ready to take 3 or 4 places in the team. Having 7 youngsters in a squad for a game we get smashed in is nothing to shout about.. if we had won then ok but the likes of Rowe who started is in no way ready for the first team. Maybe in 12 months he will be but maybe never too.

Indeed, there will be a few turning their noses up at a local lad who has spent the last 3 seasons being promoted to the premier league, relegated from prem and now part of a side who made the play offs.
Not exotic enough for some.
