Maximum 2 loans per Prem club remember, so it’ll be 2 that come in.

Robbie gotts is coming on loan from Leeds. As is joe gelhardt when he signs from Wigan, according to Alan Nixon But disappointing if those are the best loans we can get. Loans from City, Chelsea and Liverpool are one thing, but Gotts has hardly played for a team in the Championship. Matty Daly has more game time. Hopefully Carlos knows best though.

You would take Danny Ward the keeper surely? Not in a month of Sundays Surprised at that , I’m not wanting a long discussion on him but furry muff .

Nixon is just adding 1+1 and saying maybe. I’m more interested in players out as that will dictate the budget, wage limits?

But quite important penalties I would say. On the wider transfer front Wagner brought in a significant number of players at modest cost from various levels of football and it succeeded. Carlos has both international experience and I would have thought quite a wide knowledge of what's available to fit his needs that are currently in the UK> However we have a lot of high earners that we need to get off our books either paying up their contracts, letting them go out on loan (and presumably pay a large chunk of their wages) or take small fees. Reading between the lines it will be pretty much a modest budget with more if we can get rid of these players which I believe we have to accept. Given Covid will be around for quite a while and all clubs will be sufferring financially, some a lot more than us, this is the time to be prudent.

I'd prefer fat Dan or Izzy to a keeper that only saves pens. 13 clean sheets and 8 fewest goals conceded that season....Not too shabby for a keeper that only saves pens. He was a poor keeper. He was the one weak link in that side. Cost us a lot of points throughout the season. Wagner had to keep speaking up for him and how the players had his back because he was so shit. His basics were very poor. He couldn’t catch it from corners. On speculative shots the ball would often bounce in front of him, hit his chest and bounce right to an attacking player. Time and time again it happened. Also he would parry shots right into their path. He hadn’t learnt or been taught to parry it away from danger. Other teams focussed on this by shooting from anywhere to create a chance. We got done by Liverpool- this notion that they love to reinforce that all players on their books are great- they ain’t. It’s just a way they get their mediocre youngsters loan deals and their very mediocre squad players massively inflated transfer fees- £12M for Ward! £18m for Solanke. Notice how scouse wanker fans talked Ward up- many suggesting he should be starting for them- before they bought Alludon for £100M or whatever it was. However, as soon as his loan ended with us they immediately moved him on for silly money- on the back of Towns success- which he only contributed to at the end. He never played a game for the bin dippers. Smithies, Bennett, Lossl were vastly better keepers as reflected by their respective careers. Ward has been no.2 at Leicester since- like Ben Hamer before him(another terrible keeper) Has never even played a single game. This is because Leicester realised after signing him that he’s nowhere near good enough to play in the Prem. Nothing personal against him but don’t let Towns success that season trick you into thinking he was a key part of it, when he wasn’t. Just contributed at the end with penalties. So many people are blindsided by Liverpool’s strategy with regard to talking up their players with a view to cashing in on vastly inflated transfer fees. They rip clubs off with their cast offs Town have wised up with the scousers tactics now. Other clubs like Bournemouth have not and it’s cost them dearly.

It's a shame they would cost too much, but surely at Cardiff both Smithies AND etheridge can't be kept happy. I'd take either on a loan/ permanent. More realistic, but what about Bailey Peacock Farrell, knows Carlos from Leeds, played for him at u23s. Don't think he has played a game for burnleyThat's because he's shite. really! id have him on loan but its my opinion you have yours even though your last word sums up your view!

Tommy doyle on loan from man city They were never keen on loaning Foden out. I suspect they'll do the same with Doyle and think its more beneficial for him to train around world class players everyday

Tommy doyle on loan from man city Now that would be a very good looking loan. Only 18 but looks more experienced than Matty Daley or Scott High. I guess one issue would be if he stopped those guys getting any first team games, they are both a bit little older than him as well.

Come on lads Big Phil gas made it clear there will be few incoming transfer with his appointment of Corberan, he wants all the academy lads in. If the theory that Hodgkinson is paying for transfers put of his own pocket is true then it's less likely than ever we will be splashing the cash. Don't expect much of a change from the line up that started down at Millwall for our opener.

Don't expect much of a change from the line up that started down at Millwall for our opener. Getting decent players in for small fees and modest wages should not be a problem this year. No need to splash cash. Our problem is the high earners who are not contributing and cannot be shifted. This is the issue that will hold us back.

I would raid Wigan tbh and try and get Cipre and Moore from there. Realistically though, Phil paying for transfers out of his own pocket, I would expect loans and frees, basically more of the same from the last year.

What is also of interest is that The Sun’s Nixon doesn’t only think that Gotts could be heading to Huddersfield but that he could be joined by Joe Gelhardt who the Whites have been in talks with over a move from troubled Wigan.

Would be great if he could turn diakhaby, Mbenza and Kongolo into world beaters whilst he is at it.
