While some of us enjoyed the highs of 79/80 in the cowshed, Harrogate fans were in virtually a cowshed

Visited a few matches when visiting my daughter who lived in Harrogate, fantastic to get another Yorkshire club in the league.

Harrogate Town, well I never! Any chance of a pre-season friendly We've had a few in recent years so wouldn't be surprised if there's another.

Is this the first time ever that there will be two HTFCs in the league. We almost had Hull Tigers...

Thoroughly deserved too, even when Notts county scored they didnt panic and buckle, kept it cool and created another chance to score again.
So another season in non league for Notts who play in a stadium that could host premier league football no problem, they`ve done really well themselves this season as they were at rock bottom and under threat of going out of business, they`ll gain promotion sometime but as others have found out the longer it goes on the harder it gets.

Fairplay to them, they've got a bit of money for that level but as we all know that doesn't guarantee success. It's a big enough place for a football league club but it is a big Leeds stronghold. If they can stay up over a number of years they'll gradually build a more solid fan base of there own.

I'm in a win-win on this. Nice for Steady if Harrogate go up but I've a soft spot for County and Meadow Lane deserves to be hosting league football again. No team deserves anything unless they earned it.

As a town (hudds) fan living in Harrogate I am well chuffed for them. Hopefully they take Harratt for another year in league 2. They play decent football and score loads of goals.

No team deserves anything unless they earned it. I knew as soon as I wrote it someone would pull me up on choice of words. Obviously I was alluding to the standard of facilities at meadow lane. When there was a weekend when no Championship football on and there was a suggestion that people adopt a non league side for the day I popped down to meadow lane to see County play Torquay who were doing quite well at the time. It struck me that though they could only afford to open 1 main stand for home fans and a bit of the opposite stand for away fans the overall condition and state of facilities would not be out of place in the Championship. Obviously everything has to be earned on the field. Fingers crossed for them next season

Congratulations to Harrogate, playing the likes of Bolton, Tranmere, Oldham, Grimsby, Carlisle, Port Vale and Bradford should be some decent gates for them but Harrogate the town it's self wont know what as hit them.

Just out of interest, does anyone know how much Weaver's put into them over the last few years? Not saying he's Peter Lim or Maxim Demin-level rich, but there's not the kind of outrage (whether real or fake) that Salford and Bournemouth have faced recently and it's all framed as "little ol' Harrogate's fairytale coming true" so I'm wondering if I'm misjudging the situation? When they were in Ave's league (NLN) there seemed to be a lot of talk of their going full-time as candidly trying to buy their way out.
They've obviously invested in their facilities for themselves and the benefit of the community too though, rebuilding almost all of the ground since the last time I was there (14/15ish) and installing the 4G pitch (which they'll sadly lose, until the EFL see sense). Wonder if when that goes, he'll have to foot the difference because that provides a lot of income to lose.

If you do go, use the train. Parking around the ground, and in Harrogate in general is diabolical. The ground is hemmed in by the hospital, residential property and Wetherby Road.It was bad when they were playing Ebbsfleet et al, Bolton and Bradford will be a nightmare. If football ever gets back to normal of course.
