It's that quiet period that usually follows the end of the season. Players back Monday I expect news to start next week.

Fair enough, I just thought it pretty odd that CC’s assistant announced his new job on his own Twitter feed 15 days ago but no one at the club has mentioned it...especially as there have been over 6,000 official posts about LO’B in the interim.

The comms are different, no doubt about it, club has a different feel to what it did a couple of years ago. Maybe things are just different with Phil in charge and no Sean Jarvis. Hope it improves once they've got something interesting to talk about. Even goal of the season was a consolation goal in that god awful performance v Barnsley. Who votes for these things, I'd have given it Mounie v Blackburn, far better strike and gained three points. Sent from my SM-A515F using proboards

Hang on Roy... So your saying that great goals become better goals if the team who the goal was scored for goes on to win the game? Or that for eg Justin fashanus crazy 1978 GOTS volley against Liverpool should have been downgraded to "not GOTS" if Liverpool go on to win the game?
Can't be having that fella

Given the context of the games, I'd have gone with Mounié's. Fashanu's was just on a different level to those.

Lovely clean strike but it was begging to be leathered in from there. Mounies was by far the better goal all ends up imo. Like I say, strange choice and who voted?? Can’t we just wait until the players and squad get back from the break and any potential signings are also back from holiday before we start another thread bashing the club. The whole clubs staff will have effectively had to take their holidays in a condensed close season, so I suspect the club is currently operating on a limited number of personnel. Folk are entitled to some time off. Plus over half of the back office staff have been furloughed since March!

Maybe the club should put out an announcement...
"Theclub has nothing to report at the moment, but we haven't forgotten the fans..we still love you...thankyou"..

It makes absolutely no difference Take Bacuna's excellent strike against Charlton to make it 4-0 in the 94th minute this season, Charlton had given up and the pressure was also off Town. He was playing with freedom. Would Bacuna scored the same goal if it had been 0-0 in injury time? We will never know, but my gut feel says no. Would it have been a better goal if it had been 0-0 beforehand. In my opinion, absolutely. Context has to count in my opinion, but hey it is an opinion, that's all.

Would you then go away and check out all the results before voting?

For a dumbed down MOTD competition, that's not even a competition any more 😊, then it's unreasonable to include context. But for assessing a single club's goal of the season award, where many fans are conscious of the context, then it makes sense to take it into account. Keep going Ted. 😁

Guess the answer to this is, I had absolutely no idea what the result was in that Norwich game previously mentioned, but will always remember Justin Fashanu’s swivel and left foot volley which was shown at the start of MOTD for an entire season. Similarly the famous Willie Carr / Ernie Hunt free kick for Coventry. Brilliant goal (never to be repeated as flicking the ball up at a free kick was banned soon afterwards ) I’ll always remember the goal but have absolutely no idea what the result of the game was.

Hopefully we might have something from the club today, first day of pre season and all that. I'll miss being able to watch the pre season friendlies though I know many don't care for them but I like watching without any pressure on the outcome Plus seeing any new additions for the first time.

Not even any rumours about a sponsor, in these uncertain times we could do with some brass coming in. Is Central Garage Mirfield still going?

He used to drink in my local and got involved with the football team. He wasn't, to be polite, the greatest footballer and he acted as a physio on a sunday morning.
I was playing centre half one game and was shepherding the ball back to our goalie who caught it sweet from a yard and I took it flush in the face. I was out before I hit the floor and when I came round and groggily looked up standing over me was Doctor Death.
I soon got up!!!!

Your post reminded me of scarborough`s sponsor quite a few years ago, `black death vodka` its emblem was a skull with a top hat on,it got quite bit of publicity at the time on the news etc, naturally the footballing authorities didnt take too kindly to it but it was quite funny all the same.
