Yep, that's why I'd always have Ronaldo in my team over Messi. Stepped out of his and done it in several leagues, performed on the international stage - carrying his team at times and just has that edge to win a game in the last minute. Absolute model professional (latter years). The one club argument has never made sense to me. Messi is the only player I can think of in history that has been criticised for staying at one club yet players like Maldini, Scholes, Giggs, Totti, Baresi are all lauded for it. All apart from Totti won their league year after year as well. Considering only Aguero and Vardy have more goals against the Premier League's "top 6" than Messi I don't think there's much argument he'd score in England and I really don't think he'd struggle joining a Juve team guaranteed to win the league every year. Juventus actually finished the previous 3 seasons before Ronaldo got there with higher points tallies than they've managed since. For me Ronaldo is the best striker of all time but Messi the best footballer. Some decent points but for me its the international stage thats the big let down with Messi, all those players mentioned stood out for the countries too. Messi had some amazing players around him for Argentina and he's never thrived. Ronaldo can step up for a poor Portugal side and smash a free kick in from 30yds in injury time. Taking nothing away from Messi but that takes something more than being a good footballer.

For me Ronaldo is one of the greatest, a superb footballer who has achieved amazing things. And continues to do so. However, achievements apart, when it comes to pure footballing skill, Messi can do more things with a football than Ronaldo. Infact he can do more things with a football than any other player I've ever seen.
