Don't blame Town on this one if it's true. Willock showed some promise last season albeit briefly so if he's asking stupid wages then PH is right to say no. Didn't get anywhere near West Brom's first team in his first loan spell last season as well so he'd be best accepting what is probably a more than decent offer by Town and concentrating on kick starting a career that is unlikely to happen at Benfica

I'm sure there is better out there for the money but I'm not confident we will identify them, especially if Willock was our number one target, but here's hoping!

So be it. You don’t go from Arsenal to Benfica as a hot prospect without getting paid a fair whack. I’d have thought it would be inevitable that they’d have to subsidise his wages for the remainder of his contract for him to drop to our level.

You’re telling me Willock didn’t accept Phil’s generous offer of a packet of haribos and a hobnob? Footballer’s are greedy bastards. that deal has already been snaffled by our "star striker" .......how about a bag of mint imperials and a lick of someones Snickers ?

If true re Willock failing to agree terms
1. I support the club on this - a 30 min cameo v wba aside when he had a point to prove and was brilliant he was average. Lazy, non existent and lost then Ball too much. I wouldn’t want him back on loan never mind permanently
2. If we have €1.1m to spend and we’re thinking of spending it on Chris Willock then our recruitment team need their heads knocking together

Surely a striker will be signed by Thursday in order to play Friday.... it would be absolutely criminal to not have one 4 competitive games into the season. Looks like Bonatini is off to a Swiss club - hope that wasn’t who we supposedly had lined up as rumoured. Ward and Campbell are our strikers, Carlos said as much. I’d be amazed if we signed a third player for one position. Really ? - are you serious ? - please tell me no.....

Lewis Gibson, the centre back from Everton we have been linked with recently, is having a medical at Reading.
Not sure if we’d still be interested after signing Sarr but if we are then we need to get a move on!

We don't need a centre back now we've got Sarr in.

Not particularly arsed about missing out on Willock, although I did feel he had potential and would've liked to have seen him back.
If we don't sign any attackers we're going to be absolutely toothless though and reliant on Grant being rehabilitated. We need another 2 wingers and ideally another striker too or the squad is weaker than last year and Carlos will need to perform miracles to keep us up.

We don't need a centre back now we've got Sarr in. To an extent. Will take time for Sarr to fit in. Rumours of Schindler leaving seem to have a degree of substance (although have quietened). Kongolo set to leave on a permanent. It’s not a priority but certainly wouldn’t say no to a CB, especially Lewis Gibson.

Seems sarr was higher up the list than Gibson.Understandable as championship experience and not a loan.Had we missed out Gibson would have been a good choice I think and will probably go on to bigger and better things. One thing it hopefully shows is that we are looking at the right players.

Mounie left 2 weeks ago. At that time Campbell wasn't training which left Ward as our only option as a striker. He's since got injured, so we're left with Campbell who isn't match fit & could only muster a pathetic 3 goals last season.
Why the fuck after two weeks knowing this haven't we brought in a striker yet?
It's an absolute joke!

Phil likes a bet. Maybe he bought a load of action at tens and is waiting to lay it all at threes before getting his cheque book out?
