the only criticism he got with us was his speed and stamina, and that was 10 years ago. somehow I don't think he fits the criteria for a striker in this setup!

Definitely wants to come home. Wednesday want a fee and the club is waiting to see if the ‘outs’ happen and whether they are prepared to pay one. Otherwise he’ll come at the end of his contract....apparently.

Forty goals in a season wasn't bad for a carthorse . He does work better with a striker alongside him but given that we've struggled to score gaols with one up front for several years now, maybe we should be looking at a front two From a cost point of view I wouldn't expect us to be in for him and he is past his best, but he can't be any worse that what we currently have.

We are definitely considering him but paying a fee as you say is hard to reconcile - agree he’s well past his best. He has got one in one this season though... 😉

Maybe he needs to get his dad to threaten their chief exec in to letting him go like he did when he was trying to force his Blackburn move?

Nostalgic returns rarely work. And I don't see Rhodes fitting the Corberan system.

He's starting for the Wendies again. Yeah it’s weird that they are happy to let him go but yet start him each week. I think he’s driving it and they know he will go for nothing from jan.

He's starting for the Wendies again. Substituted on 69 minutes and who should replace him but - Katchunga! That must be some kind of omen, surely?

Because his general play is/was as bad as Grants ? Got to disagree. his touch is 10x better than Grants. And he’s fine with his back to goal. We don’t need him to link play. We need someone who can finish. And there’s absolutely no argument against the fact he can do that. There’s no need to complicate things. Is he a better finisher than anything we’ve got? Yes. Will he score more goals than anyone we’ve got? Yes.

Fair point but got to think with a midfield of Eitling, OBrien and Bacuna, with Ward one side and Koroma at worst on the other I think he’d do fine for chances.

He was crap in the last two games. The big worry I have is that Eiting will prove to be as brittle as Danny Ward.

His touch must've improved since he was here then cos the only assists I remember him getting were from his attempts to control the ball and it bouncing off him to Novak 😉

People saying Rhodes is fine with his back to goal have very short memories
His hold up play in league one was awful but he certainly made up for it with his goals.
Now he doesnt contribute much in the way of goals im not sure how useful he would be. We need an all rounder, Bamford type. Yes he missed some sitters last season but his overall contribution to the side with stretching defences, holding it up, bringing others in to play etc was invaluable to Leeds.
There has to be similar knocking about in League one who we can invest in and improve

Rhodes got 33 in the league and 39 in all competitions over the last 5 years and Mounié and Grant got 27 in the league and all competitions. Appreciate he’s been nowhere near as prolific as he was for us and Blackburn but I reckon in a team set up for him he’s the potential to bag 15-20 goals a season still.

OK, I looked on wiki and missed the goals he scored at Rovers before he went to Boro on loan. I still wouldn't want him back though, I wasn't a fan of his when he was here before, I was grateful for the goals but that was it.

Where did this rumour come from? Or are we just speculating ex players who could genuinely do a job?
