A source close to the club has said Danny Welbeck is interested in a move to Town as he will be closer to his family back in Manchester. Town will pursue if Grant goes. Fulham now also interested in Grant.

Just been released by Watford, but I can't see that happening at all. Wages will be very high as he's a free agent used to high end premier league wages

Weren't Southampton after him earlier in the summer? £45,000 a week at Watford? Think that rumour was started by a leeds fan on twitter.

73 career goals and 41 assists, awful injury record. Watford agreed a package for him to go on a free so they didn’t rate him for the money he was on. I assume he would still expect more than we, allegedly, wouldn’t pay Willock so it seems a very long shot. I think Ward will have enough injuries without paying someone to share the recovery room with him.

Bring in Jack Wheelchair too.
Given we couldn’t afford to offer Stankovic an acceptable contract and we’re desperately trying to clear the decks I doubt very much that this will happen.

Probably in the top 5 paid players per minutes played in recent seasons. If we can’t afford Willock we can’t afford Danny Welbeck.

I believe we offered Stankovic a good contract but he wanted guaranteed starts and so left to Austria. Welbeck and Wilshire are probably beyond our wage budget though.

Baffling.

Or the source that told you Puado & Jacob Brown were 'imminent'?

Whilst it is absolutely no way of happening, if I was town I would chance my arm with a lowish pay as you play short term deal for Wilshire. Just dress it up as if you want to prove you can still do it in the prem, come here on say £10k a match pay as you play, so roughly £10k a week and he won’t play every game. Sign that to end of the season and show the big clubs what you can do. Of course as I started my point it won’t happen but I’d be cheeky and try it. If he was fit, he is class and could help LOB develop a bit and if injured well he’s not getting paid.

That's presuming it was actually there on this one, unlike Mooy

If we signed Wellbeck for £5m and paid him £25k a week for 2 years, then I imagine most would consider that a decent deal. In terms of outlay thats the same as getting him on a free now and paying him £75k a week.... roughly £7.5m overall.
Him as a fit player, that would be an absolute steal... problem being hes injured so much. Think any club taking him would want to factor in some kind of pay to play deal. Imagine he sees the prem as being where he wants to go, not to a club like us.

Players like Welbeck and Wilshire are an unfortunate casualty of the evolution of football, the double sessions, fitness work and pressing game can take a toll on the body, especially one made of glass.

Met him and spoke to him a few times. (my daughter would also know when he wasn't in the match day squad with the time he set off to the stadium) He came round with some birthday cake when I was there helping them to pack up and move out. When he saw I was there he was all for nipping back for another slice. I politely declined. This was back in January and he already knew by then he would be leaving at the end of the season. It was quite difficult to get him to talk his time here, he seemed very shy and a bit lonely. Easy to forget he was not much more than a bairn, a long way from family and friends. {sorry, massively off topic}

Good luck to him. ...And that's all I have to say about the Welbeck 'rumour'

Hello. We left the premier league 18 months ago. We are now skint. And we are discussing signing players of the caliber of Wellbeck? And more to the point, thinking he may even consider a move to us ? 😂🤣😂🤣

Jack Wilshere? Danny Welbeck? We probably couldn’t afford Jack Colback.
