Call me cynical but this is a petition that's going nowhere, no matter how many people sign up. There's too much fear in British society at the moment. Other countries are dealing with the situation so much better.

Calendar on Monday, live from Chesterfields new stadium, they can open a large room, similar to our White Rose Club ? where fans can sit, drink and watch games live on a big screen telly but if it's a home game they have to close the curtains to stop people watching the same game on tv live on the pitch ?

Trouble is not in the ground it's travelling, mixing and congregating. It won't happen until New Year at best. The PL prima Donna's could solve lower league problems but they're too sef centred. Look at the England trio banned for partying, they are spoilt brats.

Look at the England trio banned for partying, they are spoilt brats. There was an article in The Times last week outlining a plan to let only local season ticket holders into games. That would cut down some travelling dependent on what they class as local. Some of the PL fans will struggle as flying into games won’t be deemed as local!

The petition wont go anywhere even with a million signatures. Do you not think there are so many other industries and sports that also want to get back to some kind of normality. Why would football suddenly be prioritised? Do you not think theatres want to get people back, or concert arenas or cricket stadiums? Accept that its just not going to happen this year and move on. Find some alternative to do on a Saturday because no amount of signatures will change anything.

Me personally like the whole shbang about going to a football match, pre match drink, banter in the pub, club, singing, getting excited the night before, away match planning.
How boring missing all that out and subjected to a quiet stadium.

I haven’t signed this. Why the fuck would I want to subject myself to the fortnightly ritual of punishment that watching Town has become? I’m happy to have paid for my season ticket and there is no need to waste £40 on petrol to experience the disappointment.

The point, however minute and irrelevant one signature is, is that we still are clinging to some kind of democratic voice at grassroots level against this ham-fisted, inept and borderline fascistic regime that is steadily kicking our hard win values into touch. I’m not giving up just yet thank you, I joined the military for a combat role at 18 because I believed in defending the principles this country was built on and as a cynical old fucker I still do. No chance of fan's getting back anytime soon and i wouldn't be surprised if fan's are not back until next season. Too many people are breaking the rules so why would football fans be any different.

Signed, now up to 126,885 so Parliament will 'consider' this for a debate. While they're at it can they consider scrapping the current lockdown of the north which actually appears to be leading to a rise in cases, it seems the more they lockdown the north the greather the rate of increase whereas those down south live their lives reaonable normally and cases remain low. Bizarre.

The Govt don't need to support this petition. The PL chiefs have now managed to fulfil their contractual agreement with TV companies, betting companies now have a key revenue stream reinstated.
Who needs supporters at a corporate level?
There will be a revolt of course, players will be missing the smoke being blown up their arses, so they'll want the supporters back as soon as they can...

Dortmund were allowed 11,000 fans, up from 9,000 the game before. No plans for any fans in England. It’s a total disaster.
Even the WHO have said this week that the death rate is just 1 in 1000 infected people, similar to flu. Ten times more people are currently dying from flu and pneumonia than from COVID. A survey a few weeks ago showed that people here perceive that 6% of people die of COVID when the reality is 0.1%
We’ve lost all common sense, it’s a collective mass hysteria fuelled by irresponsible clickbait modern media and crap modern politicians on all sides.
I say all this as a lifelong Labour voter not a right winger or Ike conspiracy loon. I have no problem with spacing and masks to protect others, but the rest of the restrictions are unacceptable.

Spot on Alpine, if we carry on as we are the economic and mental health fallout will be as devastating as the virus. The Government are clueless but seem happy to close half (the Northern half) of the country as they aren't really bothered if a few northerners are out of work.
