I thought we were going to do well to keep him after his first 6 months in the prem, probably should have played top flight football here or in Germany before his late 20s. Fully committed player who has achieved legend status! Job done , all the best.

Just watched the Schindler exit interview. It's sad. He's right about the supporters and the atmosphere at the JSS in our promotion season/first year in the PL. Somehow we need our new team - players and manager - to recreate that and rebuild the bond between the club and supporters.

We all knew he was leaving but it's sad when you lose a player who genuinely cares about the club. Good player and a good bloke.

The 2016 recruitment strategy of bringing in club captains from the German second tier was a masterstroke.
Character should be prioritised at least as highly as athleticism and technical ability in our recruitment this summer.

Sat here feeling numb and can’t help the tears. What a man, what a player. “ the energy on the pitch and the energy in the stands”
That’s how he explains our wonderful few seasons of greatness.
He was the rock in a team assembled by his countryman Wagner, who created the closest bond between fans and club that you could ever imagine.
I truly hope that the Hoggy testimonial in 2 years time is a sell out because it’s important that we have the opportunity to say our goodbyes.

Great player, great man, undisputed Town legend. When you think of all the players that have worn the blue and white and how many of them can honestly be classed as club legends it makes you realise how rare such a player is.

The only way the club can cheer us all up is to show us the video of Mbenza leaving canalside with Pritchard and his luggage tied to the roof rack.

Two very similar characters, understated and never let us down on the pitch. They both achieved more than many others who were considered legends at the club. A legend for me is someone who the fans can truly identify with.

Actually think it just shows how shite and how little this club thinks when they can't even resist ending a tribute video with a 20 second ad on flogging season tickets. Just let the video end on Schindler ffs

A few older Town fan pals of mine are all of the same opinion regards to Mooy, Best player since Jimmy Nicholson. Schindler, Best centre half we have had since Paul Jones.

I know some people will be understandably sad at this inevitable moment but I am quite uplifted that he leaves as hero and with his legacy intact.
We are all still looking back, which isn't a major surprise, and perhaps this is a moment from which to move forward from. Can those in charge grasp that moment?
Today has made me smile for Chris and his family. All the best mate and thanks for everything.

Character should be prioritised at least as highly as athleticism and technical ability in our recruitment this summer. I know it’s a stereotype and a sweeping one at that, but I really believe each countries leagues seem to offer players with similar traits. Players from the German leagues seem to show more leadership characteristics. Spanish brings creativity and volatility along with it. Italian league seems a mix of the two. I always , always worry when we’re linked with players from French teams.

Whilst he was always a top player for us and more importantly a top man, it's easy to forget just how good he was in 17/18. Maybe not one of the very top teams but for 12 months he genuinely looked like he could go and play for Arsenal or similar and that he'd spent his entire career in the top flight. He was an absolute mountain, worse performing players will undoubtedly have Germany caps.
Permanent club legend.

Just let the video end on Schindler ffs Nows not the time to take pops at the club. Let Schindy leave the club with the dignity and legend tag he richly deserves...........the club can then look to repair itself from top down going forward. Whatever folks think of the hierarchy now, they do want it to succeed.
