Another promising signing though not ready for first team appearances. When are Town going to learn to build a squad of players ready to go at Championship level and in positions everyone knows we need to strengthen including a proven and experienced goal scorer to replace Grant, Mounie and Depoitre? It is all very well getting in players who might be good enough in a couple of years time but Town need several experienced players capable of going straight into the first team now . The last outing against Plymouth showed how we lack experience in depth even against a mid table League 1 side. Who would you buy then?

There'll be a few proven strikers out there out of contract, contract expiring or unhappy at current club out there we could get. I we're looking as low down the leagues as Boreham Wood then I guess that list would be fairly big.

This from an analyst company. I wonder when he referred to working with us last year if any of our signings can be attributed to them? BA Analytics is a really good analyst - big Blades fan. Puts a lot of content out on Twitter. Peterborough employed him last year on the back of that and can only guess that Covid meant they had to cut their cloth a bit. Lad knows his stuff so would have been tracking him for Posh last season.

(In my defence Iβm on nights and not fully awake yet )

Iβd argue given our league position this year we already have a championship ready squad and that our new policy of trying to unearth young talent to bring through at sensible prices is a very shrewd move. The sooner everyone realises that we arenβt going to be spunking millions on players anymore and gets on board with the clubs new and exciting approach, the better.

Interesting to see if heβll be sent out on loan for regular gametime, or if heβll stay in order to become familiar with CCβs way between now and the start of next season.
Iβd rather he was sent out to a team in League 1 or 2, just to expose him to a higher level than Boreham Wood. However, I would also completely understand if they keep him at Town just so he gets an insight into how CC works.
CC will relish having players that are βprojectsβ.
Love signings like this.

If it is that kind of loan I would rather he stayed with us. He has played 'mens' football so it is just the difference in quality at this level. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Good luck to the lad - hope the signing comes off.
If he doesn't make it there's always a future in a Sigue Sigue Sputnik tribute band.

We've beaten a lot of competition for this lad, highly rated, give yourself a day off Been dialling in everyday because you said we had inbound. And it is this. Fuck me! This guy will never touch the first team. This is not a signing. And you know this, how? Do you get to many Borehamwood games?

Can someone explain how this forum works now in relation to what threads go where? Anything interesting about Town goes on a separate board where no one can find it, unless an admin posts it up.

So much of this thread is too moronic for words . Unreal levels of entitlement mixed in with 5yo petulance I get that but the club aren't helping themselves. We know we're paper thin. We're expecting ready made first teamers and instead we're getting fanfare for someone who will likely be fairly equivalent to our current B team. I'd have been over the moon if we'd have got Charlie Austin like QPR did but instead we're delving into the conference. I've got no ill will toward him at all but if the club hadn't made a big deal about it would there be this level of expectation on him already?

Would you not have signed Simon Charlton? You see where I'm going with this ? You see how moronic you are acting?

And you know this, how? Do you get to many Borehamwood games? No I donβt. Because I could not give a flying fuck about any of their players. None of their players should come within a million miles of a club that was premier league a couple of years ago. I thought Josh Koroma looked pretty decent before his injury and he was playing at the same level as Borehamwood when we signed him. At the age Sorba Thomas is now, Jamie Vardy was playing 2 divisions lower than Borehamwood, and he hasn't had too shabby a career either. It might not work out, but maybe give him a chance before writing him off, eh?

One thing that strikes me is that we have a very inexperienced squad. Aside from Hogg (not including those injured) we lack real experience at this level.
I feel this is a shrewd signing and one which will no doubt bear fruit...just not right now and I feel if we have any ambition at all we should be looking to the fact we are 6 points off the play offs and one or two good championship level players away from closing that gap.
Midfield and CB is now the priority for me
