If people are worried about whats being said on twitter they should worry about themselves rather than who Town sign The funniest thing for any football fan is seeing rival fans blubbing

He’s here now so no longer speculation. Wouldn’t have been my choice but he’s a Town player now and so I’ll get behind him as much as our other players.

I dont think anyone is doubting we needed a CH but surely there must have been better options available? Couldn't we have got a loan signing? Just smacks of cheapest option rather than quality required

Regardless of individual opinions, just looked at twitter. We are literally a laughing stock to the football world right now. Everyone just taking the piss out of us. What has happened at our club? I couldn't care less what others say.

Carlos has had no desire to sign Keogh, the only player he's got eyes for this window is Holmes. Pretty certain he'd no desire for Stearman and Schindler to be out injured long term either, but to we don't always get what we want.

I cheered for Hammill.... until he twatted that female paramedic.
And as much as I rate him as a footballer, I would not be happy to see Tom Lawrence sign for us. Or Mason Bennett (who I also rate as a footballer). I wasn't happy with Danny Simpson (notwithstanding the relief that his inclusion in the side improved our defence). There are lots of players whose ability I rate more than their character. For me, they need both.
Keogh has many of the attributes we need. Experienced cover in defence, in a player who is used to playing in sides that like to play the ball out from the back. I get that. And after the rumours of an 18 month+ deal I am relieved that it's just a stop-gap for this season.
I don't dispute that his time here last time probably has coloured my view of him as a footballer. I hadn't realised it was as long ago as it was though tbf. The age doesn't worry me too much but the injury does - even if you forget how he got it. Will it stand up to high intensity training sessions? Attitude? Not impressed at all. I suppose I'm living in hope that he can pass on the positives that he displayed at some of his previous clubs without any of the negatives. Don't we all?

I take it you wanted Andy Morrison out of the club and didn't want to give him the benefit of the doubt or a second chance when he got into trouble during his time with us? Or Darren Bullock? What you have missed is that both Bully and Jock left Town as a direct consequence of what happened off the pitch, not how they performed on it, football fans, myself included, are in the main massive hypocrites that will defend their player while slating an opponent for the same or similar. Keogh may be a decent signing, from what I’ve seen in the past in a Town shirt I remain to be convinced, I am however certain his character is at best “questionable”, are you happy to turn a blind eye to anything he has done or might repeat with young players in future ? You’re allowed to be just as I am allowed to express my thoughts against it.

I just dont have any words. We are being taken for absolute idiots cus we arent able to go to the game. 34 years old, a fucked knee, a pathetic role model for the younger lads, about as much pace as the QE2. I wouldnt have touched him if he offered to pay us for 6 months. His fucked knee has got through 2 medicals since he recovered correct and forthe post taken for idiots although in this case you arnt but idiots start with you and others . the lad is now fit again and like any player injuries can strike any time as we know to our cost.

He could have fooled me from all the comments he has made about Keogh today socially distance that is rubbish untrue yes he is interested in holmes but no desire to sign keogh is a downright lie

Can't get my head around this one. Putting aside his previous misconduct, injuries and age (Which are all reasons alone not to sign him, imo). He just isn't a very good player! Never was and wont suddenly turn into one. If this is the best we can do for that position then alarm bells are ringing for me.

We've addressed a short term problem with a short term solution. Here's to 3 points tomorrow & a clean sheet.

From a football point of view, it's sensible. We didn't have any fit senior centre-backs at the weekend. At the very least, he's fit having played 20-odd times this season, knows the division, and provides experienced cover. When Schindler and Stearman are back, I'd go so far as to say he's probably not even on the bench, unless he's earned his place with good performances.
I also think a 6-month contract is sensible. I wonder if we have someone(s) already lined up for the heart of defence this summer, who may be 26/27 and has both a bit of experience and time in front of him in his career. This is a signing that may (hopefully) suggest so.
Like others, I'm concerned at Keogh's off-field antics in 2019. It's not ideal for the club. However (and this is not to really mitigate), he has faced the consequences of his actions through injury and disciplinary proceedings, and most of us would find it unfair and ridiculous that he was sacked (when injured) while the two more serious perpetrators in the incident were not (when not injured and retaining resale value). We can hope he is rehabilitated.

Don't get much of the moaning, we are running short with injuries and this is a short term solution. Not like we've given him a 2 year contract.

Hopefully the car incident has made him realise how fragile a football career is etc
He could actually be a good role model for the youngsters - "don't take it for granted and make the mistake I did"
One of best captains in English football history - Tony Adams - did time for drink driving.

Certainly not blown away by this signing but it plugs a gap. The club have at least learnt their lesson and only signed Him on a short term deal. Happy to allow Him to do His talking on the pitch and leave His previous off-field indiscretions in the past

As others have said he's not signed for the long term future he's here to plug a gap. For those that said we should be signing better, who?
It's 13 years since he was here so I don't think much should be read in to that (I thought he was shit at the time) but he's had a decent career since and is a solid if unspectacular signing.
We may have a centre back lined up to bring in over the summer already we have no idea but we needed someone now that is solid and has experience at the back plus a huge amount of that experience is at this level so I think it's a fairly sensible signing.

Borrowing a player from a made up club. How the mighty have fallen. what a stupid post So when Town ascended to the greedy league, how many would be thinking in 3 years time they will be, in all but words, loaning a 34 year old league one centre half to make up a team? I'd suggest that shows how far Town have fallen, and again, how badly the journey from the Premier League has gone. No?

This isn’t Lee Hughes. Its not Tony Adams. It’s a guy who got in a car after getting pissed up. Stupid but hardly crime of the century.
If we’re not signing players on this criteria we’d struggle to get a team together. I think breaking his leg, losing 22k a week and having to play for MK Dons was punishment enough. Without all that we wouldn’t even have been able to afford him!!!

If he makes us more solid in the next few months, all his off field antics will be forgotten.

Couldn't we have filled the short term gap with a loan signing of better quality? You're not telling me there is no one out there better than Keogh who would have come here on loan?

My eyes are dry, it was a statement. And if you actually read my posts you will see that I agree with the deal on a 6 month contract. It's just a shame how our transfers are working right now
