bloody rubbish imo... was this voted in?
we've signed a player and the thread on him is in a "transfer rumours" forum
I dont really understand the need for it. The board is quieter than usual as it is, i log in every few days and its the same old threads on the front page. dont see what was so wrong with a transfer rumours thread on the main board then an individual thread for more substantial news/confirmed signings.
This seperate rumour forum lark works on the forums of big clubs (but they usually have a thread then made for a player on the main board) but not sure its needed on here with a few hundred folk knocking about
it's dead and the season is still going, imagine the main board come summer break

Careful, I asked the question and it got moved to page 36 of the transfers rumours thread.
Surely once a players has either signed or left it is no longer a rumour and we can actually talk about it in here. Instead every thread seems to get locked or moved, including those which started months before. See the 2 locked Hamer threads.

think i'd rather read 14 year olds saying we are signing karlan grant than a thread about david flipping webb thats still kicking around

This change was made back in the summer and has been discussed at great length on various threads. Feel free to retread the same ground if you like but this isn't "new".
For what it's worth, I have my bookmark for DATM set to the "Recent threads" page so I can see threads from all boards and sub-boards sorted by the most recent activity. This generally means I miss very little in new developments.
The issue of rumours becoming reality and moving the thread about (for example) Duane Holmes from rumour to the main board is one we admins understand but once a thread is established (and the Holmes one had several pages before he signed) it can cause as much confusion to move it as keep it where it is.

Cool .. click recently updated threads then choose the threads you don't want to go on as well as the ones you do. The thread title usually gives away what the thread will be about . I dont know what the stress is tbh

You've kind of made our point there - there was already a thread about Ben Hamer that was alive and well. Two more cropped up - should we leave them and then have 3 separate conversations about it or move them to one place? Why would we leave them? If we did we'd gt far more complaints about a lack of housekeeping than we have had about moving them.

Fair enough if discussed at length. havent been coming on much with everything being a bit stale..would have read more over january if it wasnt fractured across 2 boards though if i'm honest

I read a lot of redcafe the utd site as i have an interest to read it, and it's also great for general football talk - it works excellently with a strict structure of individual boards, tweet threads, rumour threads and player threads so I can see the rationale, just dont think it works on here personally

They'd been around a while. Someone commented on it saying he'd gone and the whole thread got locked. I understand, but don't agree with, wanting to move rumours somewhere different. The sub board in talk of the town seemed fine to me. I still don't see the need to take them off the main board. I don't understand why you are doing it with completed transferd, especially after a player has been sold. You're essentially saying once they've been sold you can't discuss them except in a transfer rumours board.

No need for off topic? You are joking aren’t you? So you want Otium, galpharm 2400, slaphead and about 10 other posters to flood the main (only) board of the forum of a FOOTBALL club about COVID, Trump and Islamophobia then?
No thanks.

Doesn't appear on mobile devices as far as I can see Yeah I'm on my little Samsung. Had HTC and iPhone in past. Worked a treat Here's what I do: On your phone, put in on 'Desktop site' then you'll see 'Recently update posts' and 'Recently updated threads' options. Bookmark either (of both of those). Untick Desktop site mode (so you don' feel you've got cataracts). Bingo. Go the the top of the most recently updated posts/threads at the click of a button. N.B. This is a workaround. Still feel the Transfer board is a bad move. Get all the football in one place.

And this is exactly why the 'just click on recently updated threads' answer is a bit guff. Some (most) of us come here to read about Town. There are far better places and audiences to discuss other stuff. So, to pick up on threads about players we've signed, the suggestion is to click a button which throws up yet more thread titles to decipher if they're of any relevance to football or not is a bit daft. Just stick footy stuff in ToTT, have a sub board for transfer RUMOURS if you really must (although from what I saw of the discussion, the vast majority who expressed an opinion were against the "new structure"), and I couldn't really give a stuff about anything else as long as I don't have to sift through it to find out we've signed Duane Holmes.

Don’t disagree but I can see all the forums, ToTT, transfer rumours, off topic and more whenever I open up DATM from my iPhone, like Chipster said. It’s not exactly difficult to go to where you want to go, is it? The admins made the decision a while ago to consolidate transfer stuff on a separate board. They’re fully aware it isn’t everybody’s preference. If they still think it’s better to separate if from ToTT then fair enough.

On my phone, ipad or Mac I have a shortcut directly into ToTT and that's the only board on here that I ever see, look at or am interested in, I'm sure I'm not alone.
