Unless he is willing to accept an offer that will likely be less than a third of what he was on at Everton I honestly can't see this one happening. Hope he's more interested in getting back playing football than chasing a lucrative contract with unrealistic wages for a championship club, particularly in the current climate. One would hope that a period of unemployment at the age of 30, in the current climate, might make him a little pragmatic.

I’d guess we’ll be using our ususal ‘put yourself in the shop window’ approach. If he’s desperate to play and not currently earning, you’d think he’ll be willing to make some compromise wage wise?

Has there been any intel to confirm or deny this rumour? Dont find any value in anything that is written exclusively in the Sun.

I don't understand why we don't just bring him in on trial first? See if he's up to the level required for a few weeks and if he proves it give him a temporary contract.
Win win

Win win Can you imagine the 20/20 Hindsight guys on here if he came on trial, proved he was at the right level and then his agent got him a gig elsewhere?

Re the quarantine period - why is this necessary if he has negative tests?

Re the quarantine period - why is this necessary if he has negative tests? Because like a large chunk of COVID rules over the past 12 months, there doesn't have to be a reason

Re the quarantine period - why is this necessary if he has negative tests? Just seems like us that do it. Everyone else signing seem to play straightaway. Odegaard was on Arsenals bench Tuessay - why didn't he have to quarantine? Diagne played for West Brom after coking in on loan.

Player from a club comes over tests negative, can play. Players from no club comes over, tests negative, quarantine for 2 weeks. Ridiculous.

The guy is a free agent so as not been working within any bubble so needs too spend 2 weeks in quarantine.

Not in a bubble = less contact with people = should be at less risk. As I mentioned above, negative test means negative, regardless of a club or free agent. Corona doesnt say 'this guy was unemployed, I will attack him instead of the other who was employed' I understand this has nothing to do with the club. But does it make sense to any of you?

Seems daft when players are free too do what they like outside of a bubble as we have seen.
