So as a pre curser my source is 3rd hand so not saying it’s bang on. I’m not ITK but he’s been right about few things to me over the years but also wrong about a few so make of this what you will however I am told that....... There’s one agent who represents one of our first teamers that is behind the South American links. Apparently we have 4 that have been offered to us. Lazaro, a CB and 2 young 18 year olds all from South America. The deals aren’t bank breaking and Bromby wants them all but Phil is not interested. I’m neither pro or anti Phil so not a loaded post and as I said the source is 3rd hand but hope that’s not true. Apparently the big plan is to get all the back up players in first before the main signings. Seems odd as if they want to sell season tickets you need the fans to be excited but hey ho! If I was Phil Hodgkinson and Bromby came to him all excited about 4 young Brazilian lads being offered to Town nobody at Town had probably ever heard of, I think I’d be asking serious questions about Bromby’s capabilities. If there’s any truth in this then it’s not exciting, it’s alarming.

There is a element of truth to this! The company who work with the South American players are called traffic sports marketing. They are keen to work with us and have offered us 3 or 4 of their clients. However they are losing patience with us and are starting to look elsewhere at other clubs now. I don't know what the hold up is but I assume it's to do with money! I'm actually with Phil on this (if true). Sounds like an agent in South America is touting all the players on his roster to us, Bromby is excited as there's a few south americans that could potentially come to the club and runs to Phil to ask to sign them. Just because they are South American doesn't automatically mean they are championship level standard. More importantly, it should be if Carlos is interested and not if Bromby thinks they are a good fit. There would be an adjustment period moving from Brazil to Huddersfield, something we can't really afford due to our paper thin squad. I'm reserving criticising Bromby for now, however the more stories I hear and the evidence given in the recent singings (holmes!!!) makes me not trust his instinct. Lastly, if Lazaro is a good player why is would he come to Huddersfield Town? I know that sounds negative but there a lot of championship teams who will pay higher wages for a start. Secondly, we finished two points above the drop zone and something similar the year before. If he was good a mid table championship club would be more likely to take a punt on him.

Please tell me the Kayden Jackson link is rubbish. I’ve got my Ipswich supporting mates telling me they’ll drive him up here and that he’s absolutely woeful. And that’s in the league below!

Maynard normally tells you when you are wrong, he didn't when I said it was Smithies - mystery solved Well it would fit the trend of ex players returning, so who knows ? The mention of Craig McGilvary from Pompey is odd, it must be 12 or 18 months ago I saw an article linking Town with him, unless it’s another Kevin Phillips saga. I've seen Portsmouth twice this season on Sky, not paid much attention to him tbh. Is he any good ? Do the Pompey fans like him, thats the best indicator for me

Didn't we offer them around £1m for him on deadline day? By the sounds of it he'd already be here if they didn't leave it so late to try get the deal done. Nothing would surprise me with Bromby in charge of transfers.

My son mentioned this last night. And I agree, he is someone I've seen play and it wasn't good. Quotes from Ipswich forum He is Sunday League bad! It's a shame as he's been one of our better players, works hard and has tremendous pace but he misses out on so many opportunities having the first touch of a trampoline.
His boot has to be a trampoline, it has to be. His pace is frightening, but not much else is. Would sell him in a heartbeat if we could recoup any seven figure sum.

We were linked with Lincoln in January so it’s obviously not an overnight thing. If we were taking it seriously we should know all about them by now. But then again, this is Town.

We go through this tosh every window. Strings of names of players and its rare any of them are actually on the club’s radar. It keeps us occupied in times of no football I suppose 🙂

You might well be correct, and maybe I’m doing Bromby a bit of a disservice. I suppose you could potentially look at it as “high risk/high rewards”, and supposedly being offered 4 players from Brazil doesn’t necessarily mean we’d sign all 4. It just doesn’t seem like the type of deals Town should be doing in their current situation, in my opinion. But, hey, I remember when footballers always used to be called John, Bob or Terry!

Yeah, I get that. I just can’t believe Bromby has gone into this window unprepared, unless he’s completely hopeless. He must know his job is on the line. It sounds like we are getting some business done but Rhodes is the only one anyone knows about and that isn’t going to get many people down in August. I just hope Phil has a few quid, otherwise this summer could be a slow motion version of transfer deadline day.

To be fair the south America correspondent Vickery on talk shite seemed to think this lazo was good and surprised we were linked but his team need cash. I get been offered loads of players and bromby getting excited is worrying but the fact Vickery who has a great knowledge of south America says lazo is decent might go some way but agree pinning all our budget and hopes on a load of south America n kids does ring alarm bells

Four players have been offered to me = agents are proactive not our scouts. Let's be clear, our scouts are paid to identify what we need. Agents are there to sell what others don't need.

Why would they prioritise back up or main signings over the other? If they do, as suggested, prioritise back up players doesn't that reduce our chances of getting in first on the players we really want ? Odd statement by whoever said that or plain stupidity.

Losing patience? How quickly do they think Josh can upload the Brazilian version of Football Manager? I think poor old Josh has been working from the 2013 edition judging by our recent acquisitions We currently have more players from our 2012 promotion squad than our 2017 promotion squad. When Rhodes signs we'll have 3 times as many. It's a joke that all that spirit & togetherness from 4 years ago is gone apart from Hogg.
