I think ours was a perfect storm for injuries, more midweek games plus a new training regime/methods with a higher tempo has done for a few.

Incredible that about 120 folk out of 170 think we’ll get a draw or win at a ground where we almost always lose, with half our team missing and the opposition in pretty good form over the last couple of months. Good luck if any of you are into betting.

Good luck if any of you are into betting. Good luck also to anyone into betting who takes into account that 'this is a ground where we almost always lose'. I'm sure that 2-0 defeat there in 2016 is really hanging over the likes of Rowe, Mbenza, Pipa, O'Brien etc.

Play High at 6 if Hoggy's out. Leave Vallejo in the back 3

Play High at 6 if Hoggy's out. Leave Vallejo in the back 3 Ye it would be a real shame to move Vallejo after Saturday, really gave us an added dimension that I cant recall us having in a backline. Two CBs who can actually pass. Do you think it might be a bit too much responsibility for High at 6 though, from what little we have seen of him 8 seems more natural but we won't know till we've tried I suppose.

Tbh, the first time I saw him was the Rochdale friendly (PP shirt fiasco) and he looked like we'd cloned Hogg. He even ran like him but could pass too. Tbh it probably is a bit much for him but if he leaves the defence as it was on Saturday then his only other options are the same as we had last season, O'Brien or Bacca. If he doesn't think he's ready I suppose it'd have to be O'B there and bring Mbenza back in up with Campbell. Atm we have CB's but no one else who's naturally defensive bar Hogg, everyone else wants to bomb forward.

I think there's a potential 2 birds one stone situation with High and Stearman.
As we aren't sure about High stepping in for Hogg, and Stearman can't manage a full 90 yet, why not start High as a DM, then if he's not up to it take him off at half time, sub Stearman on for him and put him where Vallejo was on the right side of a back 3, with Vallejo moving to DM.

O'Brien could do a job there but same as Vallejo it would be a shame to shackle him when he looked back to himself Saturday. I think I'm leaning towards pushing Vallejo to 6, Stearman on the right of the CBs, Sarr central and Crichlow to the left. I cant handle Keogh 😂 although he does have a point to prove so might have a blinder. I can guarantee CC wont start Crichlow but I've been impressed whenever I've seen him. I would have Mbenza in to the left of Campbell with Holmes behind the two. An overload of Rowe, Mbenza and O'Brien on that left side could cause Derby some problems. Nice to be even having this debate even with half our team out!!

Vallejo at 6 and Stearman at CB then when he's knackered bring High on and move Alex back to CB 🤔

Got a sneaky feeling REG will play the last 30 mins though when Stearmans puffed out. If hes fit enough anyway.

Draw
They’ve had an extra days rest and generally been on a decent run
We haven’t won a game when Hogg hasn’t played all season
But we have to take confidence from Saturday

These runs are there to be broken and as previously stated I doubt any of our players will be bothered about the past.

You would need to have been supporting Town for 64 years to shave seen us win at Derby and 52 to have seen us win at Preston. I’ve done 50 years and managed to see us draw at both Derby and Preston.

Not a good ground for us. I would be happy with a draw. Probably 3 players that played in the draw last season will start tomorrow for us. Historical fixtures have absolutely no relevance to tomorrow's fixture.

With the injury news from yesterday CC does not now have the difficult but promising decision to make on how to fit both Rowe and Toffolo into the starting 11. Playing a 4-3-3 would have been the most pragmatic way of accommodating them however the wing back system suits us with the current personnel. I would like to see Crichlow start however I think CC will stick with Keoghs experience. If Mbenza is fit to go from the off, no guarantee, I would go with something like this;
Leutwiler Stearman Sarr Crichlow Pipa Vallejo O'Brien Rowe Holmes Campbell Mbenza
This could cause Derby some real problems, especially on our left with Mbenza cutting inside, Rowe going either way and Holmes drifting. I know Leutwiler is an unknown quantity but Schofield needs a rest and a stint on loan next season. It's a shame to move Vallejo out of the three but with Stearman returning for 60 mins or so he is the natural cover for Hogg.
UTT!!

Following Saturdays win with the same team out as the weekend. I quite fancied us tonight however with hogg missing im not as confident. Vallejo is OK sitting but doesn't cover the ground like hoggy does. Same back 3bas sat for me and pop high in for hogg

Same back 3bas sat for me and pop high in for hogg It would be great to see if High is competitive at this level, especially as cover for Hogg I just can't see CC risking it. Also with Carlos stating that Stearman is ready for 60 minutes implies to me that he's probably going to start.

If they won both I would be elated & at the same time totally pissed off at not been able to witness such an amazing fete in the flesh........Definite contender for 'How Town'!! UTT.
