Do we have enough in us?
Some vital games coming up starting with Birmingham.
The squad is getting thinner week by week and with Campbell going off injured that leaves us with Phillips as the only fit senior striker on the books.
Have we got enough in us to survive, it’s going to be tight but the signs don’t look great.

Never boring being a Town fan.
The wins take me high, the losses, so low.
But I’ll always support through gritted teeth or with my (awful) singing voice.
My money is on us squeaking up. But I may change my mind each Saturday.🙂

Going by the fight against a relegation rival tonight, you have to question whether we have enough or close to

A bit ironic Reading away last game has a cup final written all over it,
Town to win to stay up, and Reading to win to get promoted.

The team that played tonight wont stay up, so it all depends how many player's we get back from injury and just how many players out out, i make it ten now

We’re 3 points off 13th! Think positive. Could do with picking something up at Preston which I can’t recall us ever doing, and obviously beating Birmingham. 4 points from these 2, a few players back and I think we’ll be fine. However we should be nowhere near this considering where we were at the turn of the year. Shocking arrogance from the club.

The big positive tonight is that we only lost 2-0 a better team would have really gone to town on us.

I'm an optimist but no chance we get four points from next two. Three at best as I just can't see how we get anything from Preston - the exact team we cannot play against. However, despite that think we should just squeeze over the line. Read the Rotherham/Birmingham/Coventry/Sheff Wednesday forums and its a carbon copy of ours. Even our last 14 games which included our horrific run had us picking up 12 points. Cannot see how with players returning we can't at least equal that over the remainder of games.

I saw us get a nil nil at Preston once. It was a night match, Buxton was manager.

5 points from the last 30 available & dumped out of the cup by lower league opposition.
Relegation fodder.

Our away form is abysmal and like you say it is down to tactics.

Another positive, Birmingham and Rotherham lost! What a fantastic premier league legacy we have!

Think we’ll scrape over the line but will it be any different next season? Yes we’ll have the remainder of the big earners off the books but then what? The club has clearly set it’s stall out to survive by spending as little as possible despite parachute payments and selling players. Simply surviving year on year to stay in the Championship is one thing but we’ll drop in the end because that’s what happens. And what happened to all these clubs we were told would go to the wall that haven’t had the benefit of parachute payments or prime assets to sell?

Desperately need Hogg back. Need to rest Schofield and stop giving goals away.

Have we got enough in us to survive, it’s going to be tight but the signs don’t look great. I think there are 3 problems we have which mean we will probably lose our fight to avoid the drop: 1. We are not battle-hardened to fight and grind out results 2. We have key players out with injuries 3. Our playing style is not suited to a relegation battle - in defence, especially, we seem incapable of keeping a clean sheet

We were awful for long spells but scored 2 very late goals. I seem to remember Robert Wilson got one or both of them?

I was at the game with rugbyterrier- there was quite a lot of celebrating and a monster amount of beer consumed (about half as much nowadays would kill me!)

First Preston match i remember was 74-75 Bobby Charlton was their Player Mgr. I was 7 years old at the time. We lost ... i think the highlights were on ITV Soccer Special - i cant remmebr the score but think it may have been 2-1 or 3-1 to them. Thing i do remember is after the match one of their coaches stopped at the Off Licence at Oakes and most of their yobbo fans rammed in and looted the shop apart taking loads of stuff without paying while the lady tried to deal with it... thing i remember was there was a nice couple who apologised to the shopkeeper for the looters and paid for their goods. Funny what gets ingrained in your mind. They were just laughing and taking what they wanted. I hope the cops caught up with their coach but i guess not... and on that note... i'll get my coat. Good night.
