I think it was the brilliant Mike Ingham on Five Live who talked about being a radio specialist. If you're commentating on TV, you don't need to say "And the ball takes a bobble on its way back to the overweight leftback approximately 5 yards inside his own 18 yard box, roughly in line with the penalty spot". You can just say "played back to Jones". Oggy has to do the former because he's primarily commentating for the radio. DTS may not have the iFollow pictures, but he knows he's commentating for those who are, so can be much more direct. And, yeah, the ifollow / Radio Leeds delay is entirely caused by the technology. It's been referenced by Bradford City. These are the things that people don't compute. Radio has to bring to life a picture in the listeners head. It's not easy... I prefer radio to the ones who bizarrely get the plaudits, like Jonathan (shouty) Pearce and Clive (useless statistics) Tyldesley... I do when it's the ones 5Live use but not local radio versions

Its local radio. They do a job. I like their coverage to be fair. I quite often go out running on a Saturday afternoon and listen to the commentary in radio. Radio is best if you are out running. TVs can be very difficult to carry and seem to loose their signal quite a lot. Curved TV is good for going around corners through! Actually it's a 1930s tube and valve bakelite wireless.

If you listen to commentators in other regions of England, you'll realise how good Paul Ogden is. We've had to endure a few of these on I-Follow due to the recent restrictions and they are terrible. Ogden does his homework for sure and when compared to other commentators at RL, for me he's streets ahead. As for Matt Glennon, sorry - not may cup of tea. "Know what I mean? (30 times a game)". We should overall be thankful that RL provide town coverage though and overall, it's a good service. Some folk are never happy (naming no names!).

A battered transistor radio with Pennine Radio sport on and my dad swearing a lot ..its just passed down the DNA chain . I have a box that allows me to watch a multitude of games i still pop the radio on as with the no crowds and BLM carry on i cant watch its shite. Oggy and Matt every time for me .
