The cowleys were not likeable. No matter how good of a Coach you are, it serves against you. Players won't perform. You certainly wouldn't want to be moored up next to them two overnight. False springs to mind. Carlos seems a genuine and devout with good intentions. His skillset is questionable but even so I'd take him over them two.

Can we have Pep Guardiola on loan for the rest of the season and a few players?? I'll bet that he couldn't do it with our players. Always said it - these master technicians, the "super managers", the celebrity bosses: Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp, Pochettino, Wenger, Solskjaer, Ferguson, any number of Chelsea managers... Not one of them would be any good without a squad of multi-million pound players to work with. Every last one of them would fail at Rochdale, Southend, Morecambe and Hartlepool, working with the squads on their books. Cheque-book football on a massive scale is the only thing they're good for. Give me proper managers and coaches any day. Contentious, I know... I’d accept John Coleman anytime. Done a great job at Accrington.

The old ‘it was something other than football’ argument that is perpetually bandied around without a shred of evidence. They should've been sacked for the football they produced and the way they acted anyway

I think it’s Cushty that they’re gone.

If CC does stay do you really think he will have a say in who we bring in?. If he does and he wanted Ward, Keogh and Holmes then he has to go. At least the Cowleys brought in a bit of quality to keep us up - ESR,Willock,Simpson. No trust whatsoever in our Recruitment Team

How would McCarthy do a better job? He was at a downward spiralling ipswich. Now he is at a champ club with a decent team McCarthy did a fantastic job keeping Ipswich in the championship on peanuts. Look at what happened as soon as he left. His teams are organised and play to their strengths. Good solid manager imo.

Neither. Only Wagner could possibly rescue the season.

With the egos the Rons have I'd have thought they'd have made a song and dance about being the ones to bring him in if it was them

Carlos. The Cowleys reputation in football is very, very low. Is it? I wasn't a fan of the football or the antics on the touchline but they have a record of producing results at every level they've been working at. Any evidence here?

I certainly didn't enjoy a lot of the football produced under Colin but we were a struggling Division 3 team that was skint when he took over. The Rons took over a struggling Championship side that were a couple of months out of the PL, one with more money than we'd ever had and a level of playing staff that most of us could have only dreamed of a few years earlier.

Carlos ...if we avoid the drop this season we are only treading water if anyone thinks Town are bringing in 12-15 decent players this summer and we will push on i feel a bit sorry for you.

I wasnt their biggest fan but it was no more frustrating watching their attritional style than the one we currently adopt where we ship shit goals week in week out and we take 20 passes to reach halfway.

Carlos with a fully fit squad/ Or a squad that's being invested in. If we get rid, we effectively go backwards pragmatic playing style, were adapting that now to survive.
We have to survive this year, invest in the summer, have a fully fit squad and we will fly next year.
FYI, I may be drunk.

We look as likely to stay up this season as we did this time last season, with a squad shorn of Mounie, Grant & ESR.
Like it or not, the primary aim this season has been to reduce the wage bill. Cowleys seemed unlikely to do that & get the same results.
I like the Cowleys. I thought they did a good job & could count themselves unlucky to have been sacked but at the start of this season, no Mounie, no Grant, no EESR-type loan, Ward as first choice striker & Campbell his backup, Hamer as first choice keeper, Diakhaby & Mbenza still in the picture, and then told me that we'd be in 18th place in March I'd have laughed at you.
I still think we'll be in Lg1 next season. I still want CC and his team to lead us in that campaign.
