Think Palace were sniffing around I'll accept that one Will Hughes on £17.5k per week at Palace and rarely playing ( was on £10k at Watford in Championship) so would expect Lewis to command more. Good luck to the lad, sadly we can no longer afford him 🙁 |

Don't think lewis would jump ship to another championship team he's pretty much the main man in the team that was 3td.
Not sure if the clause is only if a prem club come in anyway, which he can then go with all the thanks he deserves.

Players would play for anyone in if the money was good, when players say crap like "i've joined /want to play for this club because the manager is ambitious and the club has a bright future, and i want to win things".... what he really means is my outrageous wage demands have been met, not talking about O'brien in particular,just footballers in general. |

I'm hoping we can get one more season out of him. Still only 23 and plenty of time to get involved in the Premier League.

Loads of reasons why players would choose one club over another. Chance to win trophies or play at a higher level, geographic location if they have family or just a strong affiliation to an area, quality of coaching.... Money matters, but it's not the be all and end all for every footballer. |

Someone supposedly at a Wedding last weekend where Duane Holmes was at on our forum reckons Lewis O’Brien heading to West Ham for £12m? Lots of admirers of LOB from Hudds connected Leeds Fans and those who have admired his performances on TV and see him as ideal for our Midfield regardless of if we sell Kalvin Phillips and/or Raphinha. Relatively cheap option at £12/£13m these days and difference of opinion as to if he could step up or not. Personally think he is excellent and would be well worth that. |

If we are really lucky LOB will stay and with the improved players Town bring in around him, he will have an even more successful season with the possibilty of reaching the PL with Town. He is as honest as the day is long and like many of the current Town squad appears to enjoy the current setup and working with Carlos. His class and skills have been noted and it may be that he will be a Jan transfer option for some clubs if they still want him. At 23 (?) he has time on his side to build his reputation even more and then command a bigger signing on fee and transfer cost. A win for him and a win for Town I think. Lets hope he still wants to be a big (but awfully decent fish) in a small pond rather than a sprat in some PL side where at best he will warm the bench and play in insignicant cup games. Lewis if you are reading this, stay matey......the future is bright in blue and white  |

Not claiming to be in the know and it may well be out of date but I know from a very good source (his uncle who I got talking to in a restaurant in the Lakes when he noticed my Town jumper) that Scott Parker was very persistent in ringing LOB at home following the game at Town.
So could be Billing and LOB in their midfield.
I think he will have a few suiters and with the money awash in the Premier League he will command some decent wages. Hopefully a bit of a fight between teams will bump up the fee for us but either way he deserves everything he gets as he has been tremendous for Town and loyal and him coming through the academy as he has is exactly as it should work.
He would instantly improve a few teams in the lower half of the Prem -including Leeds as he is currently better than any similar midfield they have (classing Phillips as a different more specific role). And he has has a lot of scope to get better.

But West Brom are dreaming if he’s going to them Alternatively, they probably know that they won't get him, but if they're in the market for him it shows ambition to land big name targets that they might get. |
