LOB is a great lad, he's made some decent contributions for us, but, I still don't rate him as a PL player.
Perhaps Pep, Eddie or another coach can get much more out of him than David, the Rons, and Carlos managed to, but for me he's too one-dimensional and predictable for a decent defence.
I think he could do much worse than stay with us as a the first pick, week in, week out, in our highly competitive Division 2.

But he can’t do any worse than a lot of over paid shite that ends up in the PL.

I’m guessing he’s developed pockets lower than MC Hammer’s and arms like a T-Rex.

I dont think hes one of those that could go to any PL team and make the step up. He would need to be in the right system, but do think he could be a good signing for some. As mentioned he might not be too fussy when the money is on offer. Wedding to pay for, toff potentially leaving, only thing I can see keeping him is if he's confident of promotion next year and another year of development. Would probably need us to show some intent, which im not sure hoyle will. Unfortunately i see him going, and likely later in the window to make things worse. Think he will be a huge loss..

If Burnley had stayed up, and we stayed where we are, I would have fully expected LoB to join them. I think, and hope, LoB will stay with us for another season, there's nowhere better in this League.

There might be nowhere better (to a town fan ) but do you not think earning multiples of his current wage might be a factor ?

In fact, it just may be a 24-storey factor, with polished marble entrance hall, 24 hour porterage, with a large illuminated neon sign that says "I am a massive factor". But then again, Lewis, bless him, and his agent, just might not be remotedly interested in money at all.😜

He's getting to his peak years now. I'd imagine he'll treble his wages for 6 or 7 years and then come back to a hero's welcome.

If they offered to treble my salary I'd be willing to work for the Chest Wankers.
LoB owes us nowt, has been one of the standout players at this level for 3 years and has earned the chance of Premier League football.
Obviously I'd be sorry to see him leave, but especially given that he allegedly has a release clause (meaning we can't negotiate on price), I'd rather it was sooner than later, to allow us to get our incoming business done.

I do wonder if we are waiting for his sale before or that our squad strengthening plans depend on his impending sale. There doesn't appear to be any smoking hot rumours on him though. Maybe Town's valuation and any prospective buyers valuation are poles apart.

Maybe Town's valuation and any prospective buyers valuation are poles apart. I think you're probably right as regards squad strengthening plans being heavily dependent upon him leaving. And yes, the rumours aren't exactly like wildfire. Which is strange, given that last season they were and he's had a much better 2021/22 season than he had in 20/21.

In today’s market, if he has a £10-12m release clause, you’d imagine it’d be a no brainer for half the teams in the Premier League. Not even a gamble really and more or less guaranteed to get your money back if it didn’t work out. I’m sure there must be interest.

If he drops back into The Championship no club in this division would pay 12 million for him I wouldn't have thought, even in 3 years time.

A West Brom-sized club might, but even if he did have to drop back to the Championship and they didn't get the full amount back, they would get most of it and it wouldn't be a lot for a Premier League club to lose (certainly not compared to some foreign players I can think of).

Exactly.. thats my point. We think we're special but actually we are pretty much the same as others. So making huge wage rise the main factor
