I think with a release clause amount triggered the amount has to be paid in full on transfer. But any bid above can be paid over the course of their new contract with the buying club. So any club can offer more. That’s my understanding anyway. Why would any club pay above the release clause? If more than one club want him won’t there be a bidding war or is the release clause set in stone and no matter if Man City and Paris SG both want him we only get £10M and LOB gets to choose?

It might be they negotiate a higher overall fee in installments instead.

We are not sure whats in the clause but if you can't meet it it can be negotiated and it could mean paying more over a longer period all speculation

I'd be happy with this signing. Looked decent for you at Wembley and obviously his numbers stack up against most in the Championship. Good age too with the potential to get better.
Central midfield looks to be our next priority with hopefully O'Brien and Gibbs-White coming in. We'll see.

Did you manage to see him in the other two games, or are you one of the billions of Forest fans that watched the final?

If O'Brien or Toffs goto the Trees, they won't be earning any where near the wages of Harry Arter
I live in Snottingham, I know for a fact that Harry Arter (free transfer from Bournemouth) was on £35k a week, his contract stipulated that if Forest got promoted, his wages would be doubled to £70k a week. Arter still has a year left on his contract He finished last season with Notts County (non-league)

Thanks but to which bit of the question? The "only get 10m" bit, the release figure is the minimum amount to let him leave, not the only amount.

And somehow Hoyle has done it again, sell two of our best for 12.5 million, spend 300k to replace them pocket the rest rinse and repeat. Call the man what you want but he’s a genius 😂

I hope you’re not as premature in the bedroom, poor Mrs.

As much as I don’t like him as a player.
