There’s more weirdos than usual on this board this pre season. If anyone is weird, it's those thinking that it's acceptable selling our player of the year for two years running, for just £8 million (£10m - £2m for Toffs). You're welcome.
Wind your neck in.

Peanuts? They're 80m in debt and they spent 80m already on players and wages. If they buy colwil and or another defender they'll probably stay up one season. They will need a better midfield and another one or 2 up to on top of what they've already bought. The Greek loves a gamble by the look of him. Never said they’d spent peanuts, he said they’ve bought LO and HT for peanuts. I agreed they’ve taken our 2 best players off us for £10 million absolute bargain. Lots of twigs keep saying they are/were our two best players. I’d personally put sorba, Nichols, Hogg, ward (last seasons goals) even lees and Pearson up there with our best players. Don’t see how anyone can say they were our best players when last seasons team was exactly that a team.

The other signings that went pete tong not withstanding, I thought the idea was to be sustainable. Ill be totally shocked if the reported 10m isn't lazy journalism from the buyout clause on the contract.

Bringing mothers into it now, how pathetic. There is only one person sad enough to trawl through users posts to prove a point and spend most of their day posting shite about absolute strangers. For 10 years equally I have had to put up with your condescending bullshit and trolling almost every one of my posts because you have taken a dislike to me. You talk to people like absolute crap because you are sat punching away on your keyboard with your sausage fingers like you are 10 men. Most write far worse on here, there is far worse on this thread however you choose to ignore this. Maybe you do need some time away from this forum to concentrate on what goes on in the real world. P.s my mother is proud. big em completely agree, this is my 1st log on since 3rd July, my account was hacked by my x partner, who was 1st to pick up on it?, you probably got it correct!!. the guy needs to get a life, probably stop watching his potatoes growing in his potting shed, may get more time for constructive comments. the guy needs banning for a month IMO, read some of his posts as a guest, deary deary me😂😂, oh ps little ted didnt troll ya account read as a guest!! may go bookies to see when you get to 58k posts!! I've said all I have to say on the matter. In my opinion life is too short to be getting into personal spats on a message board. Nothing has been said since and I think the board is all the better for it.

But it's 10 million rising to 17 million. Not too shabby. Wheres the source for this please mate? Just general chat amongst a few town fans - not contradicted by anyone and usually well informed fans. But I don't know where they get their information from but surely those in the know on here will soon contradict if inaccurate.

You really have not worked it out yet! £43m transfer profit and £90m in parachute payments since we got relegated, whilst reducing the wage bill. Yet we haven’t got a pot to piss in. What were the wage bills in each of the years since relegation for interests sake?

Lewis’s message to town fans CLASS , genuinely wish him as much success as possible, good luck young man go smash it. I’d be suprised if you don’t continue to excel and rise to one of the big clubs one day. Where can I find this message please?

After 12 years at Huddersfield Town, I have decided to take up a new challenge. An opportunity to live every boy's dream.
When I arrived at the club at 11 years old I had a long journey to becoming a professional footballer.
Throughout my time at Huddersfield, I have learnt a lot and been through many hard times. But everything that has happened on this journey was beyond my expectations. I have developed and matured massively as a footballer and as a person during my time here.
I would like to thank every teammate I had along the way, every manager that has put their trust in me during their time at Huddersfield and every coach, chef, and cleaner that works tirelessly behind the scenes.
The memories I have made along the way will stay with me forever. I’ve met some special people and made friends for life. I will miss you all!
Finally, to the fans…
Your support and love for me throughout my time here has been massively overwhelming. I hope you understand my decision to go and test myself and fulfil my dream of playing in the Premier League.
You will always have a place in my heart UTT🔵⚪️

Anywhere for anyone over the age of 12 to read? One football is a decent football app on it it says LO posting is a message on Instagram, what genuinely is wrong with that , and seriously how ironic that your suggesting it’s childish. I will add a note a completely class move for him to say thankyou and that a part of his heart will always be with town. Good luck Lewis .

Recent animosity towards Forest aside, it's a good move for both of them. A chance to work under a great coach in Steve Cooper, at a club where they're likely to be given the room to grow into the role (since they're surrounded by players who were all playing at the same level right up to the final whistle in their last competitive fixture), and a chance to play in the Premier League.
Most importantly though... a chance to stay together <3

Don't be so prickly, I wasn't suggesting it was childish but merely trying to find out where an old crusty who does not engage with anti social media might read the message. It was meant as a bit of levity in terms of my reticence to engage with the myriad of communication platforms available these days but instead you prefer to take umbridge.

I’ve noticed a lot of posters saying the amount of money isn’t enough. Let’s just call it £10 million. Yet will be moaning when Sheff United away is £38 and slating EFL/EPL/UEFA/FIFA for the obscene money that swills around. Shoe on the other foot. For the record, I don’t know where some people get their numbers from, maybe it’s a biased view as they were Town players. They are both good players but not exactly the Ronaldos of the world.

Totally separate issues which you can’t put together. Should we just sell players below the going market rate because we want to make a stance? Yes, we are happy to sell O’Brien for £5m as long as Sheff United don’t charge us £38 per game. Forrest will take O’Brien, give us £5m, ring Sheff United, they’ll have a laugh together at us and fans will still get charged £38m. Daft is being kind. As far as where do people get their figures from, for me, it’s about what has and is being paid in the market. It helps if more than one club comes in for your player because then you most likely will get the market rate. £15m is probably about the going rate for a CM from the championship, if they are a goal scorer then it bumps into the £15m to £20m bracket. A young striker coming from the championship is £15m to £30m depending on what attributes they have. For a LB, in the case of Toff, I see him much like a Flo or Malone, so you would be looking at £4m to £5m. Even Smith was sold to Stoke for about that amount in the championship.

I seem to recall reading that the deal is £10m, rising to £17m with add-ons.
Given Toffolo's contract situation, £17m for both seems like a good deal, but it depends what triggers the additional payments to get the remaining £7m.
How likely are we to get the remainder? Because £10m for the pair is a shit deal.

I think Lewis was head and shoulders our best player alongside Nichols but I would agree with you about Toffolo. Whilst Toffolo is a good championship player, I neither thought he particularly excelled in defence nor attack. I know the latter might seem an odd statement, given the goals he scored at the end of last season, but for one thing he wasn’t particularly quick and never took anyone on down the line one on one when he could have at times. Personally I think he will struggle in the premier league. He struggled like fuck in the final against forest.

Is there any official source saying how much we got. £10m £12m banded about but as usual states fees undisclosed on Town website. Just because the Daily Mail says we got £10m do we believe them?
