Still cutting the wicket at Hoylandswaine... You know, us older farts are boring bastards but I would love to watch the Town sides I was watching as a teenager at Leeds road. The Players and Club I fell in love with. I feel none of that now, not a bit.

I was younger and naive but I thought players like Mally Brown, Brian Stanton, Mark Robins and Dave Cowling actually wanted to play for Town. We loved them and they loved us.

The thing I’ve constantly asked myself since Mooy left is - “ Is there one player I’m looking forward to watching today?” The answer is still no.

Are you a fellow boring bastard the same as me then. I always got the impression that those lads felt a sense of privilege about making it as a pro footballer. They earned more than they could expect in a normal job and were grateful. Now all I see are arrogant little wankers with an enormous sense of entitlement and self-importance. That may be a false impression though, as I’m also a grumpy old bastard. However, it’s also tempered by the fact that I played for a long number of years at local level purely for the intrinsic love of it.

Just seen the goals again.
Schofield was an absolute disgrace for the 1st and 4th.
You don’t see that in League 2, never mind in the Championship.
He has to go in the summer, whether that’s on loan or permanently.

I just can't see him improving on crosses, as been said in other posts, he looks scared he will get hurt if he shoves people out of the way

There’s a talent in there - you don’t play 6 games at England u20 level without
You can see with his shot stopping he’s got ability
But he needs to bulk out and he’s got a clear flaw in his game which needs to improve - He would benefit from a season loan in league 1 focussing on that, he’ll come under lots of pressure under the high ball and will have to deal with it. He shouldn’t be learning that as first choice keeper in a championship team
He can do it - we had similar discussions about his kicking / distribution 12-18 months ago which has improved hugely
At 21 he’s very young for a keeper and I wouldn’t write him off yet - I think with the correct support and development plan he can succeed

Shocking goal keeping and i would definitely loan him out he is not good enough at this level or league one, if we by some miracle stay in the Championship. At any level you can't have a keeper who is hesitant to come off his line.

The Schofield is a 'great shot stopper' is becoming as regular as Steven McClaren is a 'fantastic coach but not a manager' cliche - this shit gets stuck in folks heads and they just regurgitate it over and over again.
He's a goal keeper - of course he should be a good 'shot stopper'
Didn't see much evidence of it today - and he absolutely inspires zero confidence in the defenders in front of him, and how they could do with it.
Should be in the League 2 or 1 getting experience for the next 2 years then we reassess if he's ready for this level.
He's a million miles away from being an average, and I mean average, Championship goalkeeper.
Another example of the shit ownership and planning this club is currently suffering from. Add on popadom hands as our number 2 and it's farcical.
