another "rebel in drawers". Wants the same pay as men. Well then love you will have to take a pay cut because you make $1 million a year and guys in the Conference about 15 times less. I say Conference to be kind....probably step 7, Concord or Emley....and then you would not stand out. Absolutely deluded. Does everyone on a movie earn the same? If i play guitar in a working mens club band should i get the same as Elton John? Which planet do these loons live on and why are they never challenged? Exactly, there's a huge difference between wanting the same prize money in football and same pay (although personally I don't think they should get the same prize money either but then that's up to the sponsors I suppose).
Like you say Oti when they get the same crowds and the same income as the men's game then they can demand the same pay because the finances will be there to allow it.
Take Town as an example, how on earth could they justify the same wages when Town play at a decent stadium in front of 20,000 people week in week out and Huddersfield Town Ladies play at Storthes Hall playing fields (Stafflex Arena - Arena? hmmm) in front of how many? 50? I walk the dog up there a lot and I wouldn't stop to watch for nothing, never mind pay £30 a ticket.

I may be incorrect, in which case my apologies, but isn't her quest for equal pay limited to the monies received for playing for the national team? In this scenario, for USA at least, the argument makes much more sense, given the female national team garners more viewers than the male national team who rarely qualify for national tournaments.

In this scenario, for USA at least, the argument makes much more sense, given the female national team garners more viewers than the male national team who rarely qualify for national tournaments. Considering she has more caps than appearences you may be right. However, the Womens USA team will not generate a tenth of the mens for certain....simply not possible. Surely this is a non story? The more people who watch and enjoy women's football will see the financial rewards rise? It's not like horse racing where men and women compete equally. The rewards will find their level as interest increases. There's no reason why women's football shouldn't be enjoyed. To compare with different levels of men's football is surely pointless?
Is a top woman footballer worth less than a male? Technically no, but until the interest is at the same level and the same revenue levels are generated then supply and demand dictates. Comparing a top woman with a conference player is a tad insulting (to both groups) - two entirely different categories.

If they bring in more money they deserve higher salaries. I don't know the split so I can't really comment there, but I do know the men's finals bring in much higher revenue and have a much higher prize pool. |

A mate of mine has just texted me to say that Man Utd women have announced season ticket prices for 2021/22... at the astonishing price of £39 for the whole season. Can this really be true?

I've watched bits of women's football games & they are quite skilful, however, there are few tackles & the goalies are awful. I cannot seem to watch a whole game & I have tried.

If you read further up on this you will find that the women’s and men’s team were offered 2 contracts, a salary based or performance based. The women opted for salary to guarantee income, little did they know how successful they would be and how much that would be. The men opted for performance based.
