Still laughing at Spurs here ... Town have won the league more times than them! They last won it in 1961 and the last proper thing they won was an FA Cup in 1991. They should be embarrassed (obviously the owners won’t be). Man U and Arsenal didn’t qualify for the Champions League, Liverpool struggling this season, Man City and Chelsea more used to playing Leeds Road than the Nou Camp until recent years when the dodgy foreign investment appeared. They’re a pathetic lot, good riddance to them and don’t come back!

The World Cup being played in Qatar, the formation of the Nations League, the allegations surrounding Blatter & co, a further extending of the Champions League are just a selection of items Uefa have given us. There is much talk of greed in the motives of the new super league but Uefa are surely not selfless. Threats of banning clubs and players is dangerous as it implies power and control also if there was a climb down it shows weakness.
The lower end of the football pyramid couldnt be served worse than it currently is. Lower league clubs and non league clubs can hardly survive rather than thrive.
Premier League no hopers and championship pretenders might suffer. Media workers, pundits and the like might suffer. Even Agents might too.
Is it not a new competitor trying to enter a market where there is a strong and powerful outfit holding all the cards?
Its been in discussion for a long time and seems unlikely to go away.
As far as a spectacle is concerned if people are forced between watching West Ham, Burnley and Leicester take on the newly promoted likes of Norwich and Watford over Man City and Arsenal playing Real Madrid and Juventus i think the FA might be a tad disappointed.
Regarding Internationals if Grealish Mount Bellingham Foden and co are banned we might struggle with Henderson Milner Dier and Lallana in 2022 onwards.
I doubt if this new League is perfect but the powers that be certainly aren't, in fact this may expose them to an even greater degree.

Good - Bring it on. Let the greedy bastards get on with it in the knowledge that they can never come back.
The hypocrisy of the PL is staggering - bleating on about competition, the very thing that they destroy.
'Big 6 English clubs' my arse. They're not English clubs, they're global brands. Foreign owners, foreign managers, foreign coaches, mainly foreign players and plastic mainly foreign fans, all of which creates a dog shit match day experience.
Shit like this is why I've totally blanked the PL & CL for 20 years to the extent that I can barely name a single player in most PL teams.

I need to look up today's definition of big. Spurs? Man City were in the bottom division just a few years ago and Chelsea never did anything until the dodgy Russian fella turned up. Are Man Utd English? Aren't they listed on the New York stock exchange?

Immediate expulsion from the English game with this season's records to be expunged. No relegation from the PL or EFL this season, top 6 in each league gets automatically promoted. Chelsea thrown out of the FA Cup, to be replaced by Southampton. EFL Cup final to be cancelled. £100m fines for each club with the proceeds to be filtered down the pyramid. All participating players to be banned from representing their country. That's all I can think of at the moment in terms of what needs to happen. Relegate Leeds for copying the Real Madrid kit, sound fair to me! Double relegate them for copying our kit in the 20's and 30's too

They can all fuck off to where the sun doesn’t shine in my eyes, wankers I entirely agree. In fact, English football should use their signatures on these plans as the perfect excuse to chuck 'em out and reclaim the game.

Is this any different from the Premier League being formed in the 90s?
This is the reason why I have never had Sky Sports or watched any PL games (apart from Town games)or any CL games in nearly 30 years. Fans should voted with their subscriptions!

Have the FA ban them from all UK football. Have the Premier League kick them out. Have all their players banned from representing their countries. Take away the safety certificates from all the stadia.
Then let them fook off.

You have to look at who are pushing it, Americans and look how the NFL works. Fans mean nothing plus they are going to have a salary cap to stop players wages just taking all the money out the clubs. This is all for oversea markets such as China, America and the rich middle east. It's easy to say let them piss off but there will be huge repacusions to a lot of other clubs, including us. The current TV deal will be cancelled as they will have clauses built in. This means no more parachute payments for us and how are clubs going to cope without the money from premier League to pay those contracts? You are forced to offer those deals to compete in the league We pay smaller wages , why let money rule i. Let the big 6 go and we continue with a competitive system . So what if less money floats around. The only thing that matters is that it’s competitive.

Promote the top 9 from the Championship, no relegation in the football league, relegate 3 premiership teams, promote the top 6 of the conference with promotion to make up the correct numbers and kick out Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool. They’ll miss the domestic leagues more than the leagues will miss them and it’ll bite them on the arse in a few years time once the money and novelty has worn off!!! Can we ask then to hold off for 5 years? We have a cunning plan to make us a top 30 club if they can bear with us whilst we get some dosh together. The new plan will be top 24 in 5 years 😁

A Premier League line-up for 2021-22 looking like this would be of more interest to me than a European Super League: Leicester West Ham Everton Leeds A Villa Wolves C Palace Southampton Newcastle Brighton Burnley Fulham West Brom Sheff Utd Norwich Watford Brentford Swansea Bournemouth Barnsley

The greed and selfishness of those who own football clubs. A right bugger isn't it?

Sounds like a great idea to get rid of all the plastic fans. Globally they dwarf the real fans so I’ve got no doubt it would work if they have the bottle to go through with it. The hypocrisy of all the current bodies is laughable though they’re all just as bad and are only pissed of that they’re not a part of it. Surely its the opposite? A fan in China is more interested in watching Man U play Barca every other week, compared to watching Man U v Brighton.

It's similar, but there's one BIG difference - any team can get relegated from the Prem. And Leicester are allowed to win the Premier League. Only pre-approved clubs deemed worthy enough are allowed to win the Super League. And if there was no chance of winning the league, there would be no incentive for the big 6 to finish any higher than 17th. Whatever happens, they'll be in the super league each season. The PL would get used as a reserve players league whilst the first team play each week in the super league. Lets see if UEFA and the leagues are true to their word and kick them all out, fingers crossed they do.

That is the problem they are appealing to the plastic fan, and I use the word fan in a very loose way. As you say someone sat in front of his screen in China knows the names of the teams and that is it. Is told this is the only football worth watching and they believe it. Would not worry this so called SL if there were no actual fans in any stadium.

My main thought here is Kerry Packer. I thought the same, that didn't work out great at the time, but ultimately revolutionized the game and especially how we watch it. I am not sure football needs the same revolution.

Looks like they are going through with it Iwoudnt too early to think that just hope the fans of these clubs refuse to back them because in my view they have no respect for the tradition of our game it's just greed

This is the reason why I have never had Sky Sports or watched any PL games (apart from Town games)or any CL games in nearly 30 years. Fans should voted with their subscriptions! Don’t just pick on Sky. I’m a subscriber but Sky don’t have the CL, this is with BT Sport. There has been no mention of broadcasting rights for this “competition “ but you can bet that this may well be the time that the likes of Amazon etc come to the fore to totally transform TV football. Now we know why these platforms have been trialling showing games. For those who cannot grasp the massive global potential audience for this, before the pandemic, I travelled to India with work twice a year - they all want to watch Man Utd and Liverpool. Offices have team posters on the walls, it’s absolutely massive over there. When you add on to this the Far East etc - you are talking about millions of people. Not the football that we want of course, but as DTS might say, it would keep our domestic game honest and after a few years we’d have more genuine competition at the top of the Premier League.

Sky have been really pushing the message. They are shitting it! If the rights to the Super League are snapped up by Amazon, their business model is in serious trouble. They are desperate for the Premier League to remain an elite competition. But they want you to watch the rant on their website, not on Google's!
