At least we’ve got Campbell next year! That’s at least 4 goals we’re guaranteed. And how many falls and trips over his own feet?

Glad Campbell's staying on. His physicality and selflessness made up for his lack of goals both this and last season- it's no coincidence that Grant and Koroma both flourished with him on the pitch next to them. That said I hope he plays a lot less next season- he's a perfect senior squad player though as he's far from crocked, sets an example by his work rate and application, and puts the team first. Reliable backups are what we've been lacking this season and in him we'll have that at the very least.

Campbell is a pure grafter and has deserved another year, we need other strikers around him now to take the pressure off spot on his commitment is superb and for me that's what we need Yeah I don't mind Campbell. he doesn't get as many goals as you'd like and can be a walking free kick at times, but his effort and commitment are unquestionable, and he must be an absolute sod to play against. Good option to have for another season IMO.

He's one that I wanted to keep. We'd all like more goals from him, but he's had to deal with very little service into the area. Surprised with how much energy he shows at 33. No reason he can't get a few more goals, he's done it before. His height on wiki is given as 5'8"... I thought he was much taller.

Perhaps its true about him making enough appearances to trigger an auto renewal clause, as somebody said the other day.
I'd prefer that to be the case to be honest but if he is the back up option, that's not so bad.

What we need is someone with the work rate of Campbell and the finishing of Rhodes. Unrealistic you might say but Blackburn had it this season in Armstrong and Leeds had it with Bamford.

Worried this might mean we won’t bring another striker in. Ward still under contract - Is Danny to be considered our main striker? Bloody hope not 😂 Then back up options of Phillips and Harratt. Just like last year 👎🤦♂️

After what we have witnessed of this shit squad the word retained can only mean ability to do the job , cannot pay off there contract or cannot get rid.
What i would like to be left are those who have the ability to do the job and build around them
And then there we pot less in charge which limits things considerably so god knows what will happen

The problem being is that you need both commitment and goals. Without the latter we will struggling with a relegation fight again. 7 goals from your main striker isn't enough. The lack of goals also puts pressure on us not conceding at the other end

Hopefully we are looking to bring another striker in (Other than Rhodes) and Campbell and Ward are to be used as impact subs off the bench.
If we get another striker in, then hopefully we can get Philips out to L1 or L2 for the season as he needs lots of 'Minutes on the Grass' next season

Campbell is perfect to have around the club, as long as he isn’t expected to play 40 games again. Thinking back to 2017 we had Hudson and Whitehead who were model pros and I’m sure very helpful especially as we got to the end of the season. Here’s hoping we get out first team recruitment spot on again...hopefully!

Instead of sifting through other clubs skips for any more of these out of favour and unwanted players, what the club need needs is someone in a position who has contacts and knowledge of the foreign market
These up and coming quality players must be out there somewhere

Presuming Hogg is replacing Schindler as club captain, I'd promote Fraizer to vice captain now

Keogh given a two year deal! Hmmm!
Edit: had another look and it may be a fake account, so hold off on the outrage for a while.

Keogh given a two year deal! Hmmm! Those season ticket sales will be through the roof after today's news Legend leaves and we renew the deals of two very average players who are at the very back end of their careers.

Keogh given a two year deal! Hmmm! where've you got this from? nothing on the club website or twitter. although he has apparently just won £2.3m in a wrongful dismissal suit against Derby! If it is the case I expect it's on a player coach basis- I remember Mark Hudson signed a 3 year deal just before the promotion season and being similarly miffed until he retired and realised it included the transition to coaching within it.

I double checked it just to make sure it was the Huddersfield Town twitter account and all seemed OK. However, I can't now find the tweet so it may have been deleted, or may have been some goon posting rubbish under a convincing handle. I'll edit my original post to reflect this.

Sandra on Twitter has changed her name to htafc.com that seems to have caught a few people. I'm hoping that's all it is anyway. Surely we can't/won't offer Keogh a new deal! If we start next season with Keogh, Bacuna, Mbenza and Campbell in the starting 11...

The keogh one was a piss take on twitter. Yeah, I thought the 2 year contract length sounded a bit too short for our recruitment team

Just like last year 👎🤦♂️ Well we had Campbell and ward but still signed Sanago and Niasse, so that says they're fully aware what we have isn't enough to me. I think those two are back up options.. and I think the club know that. So Im expecting them to go all out to bring in the main striker option we've been lacking.

Happy with this, Campbell is a good character to have around the club and does more on the pitch than people think. Doesn't change the fact we need a signing up front, but not a bad bit of business.
