Rumour doing the rounds on Twitter that Portsmouth are after Toffolo. They have the money and the Cowleys would be a big draw for him, but honestly can't see him being happy to drop down a league or them being willing to stump up what he's worth.
Any thoughts, especially given Toffolo is likely to attract more interest as the window goes on?

I soon found this more interesting link after clicking on the Tweet. www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2021/may/cowley-brothers-sign-new-pompey-deals/Maybe they have learnt something since their Town days. The Chairman says they have brought an "exciting style of play". Or were they previously managed by the love child of Chris Powell and Andy Ritchie? 🤪 NB. Some recognisable phrases on there for afficanados of Cowley Bingo 🤪.

Not unrealistic to suggest Toffolo would cost more than any third tier club has paid for a player in the history of professional football.

Not unrealistic to suggest Toffolo would cost more than any third tier club has paid for a player in the history of professional football. It wouldn't matter if they did . They've signed up to the same salary cap as the rest of the division . So its unfeasible

He's been one of the best left backs in the division, has plenty of scope to develop and he is a model professional. More importantly, I think he's definitely worth more than £4mil to Town given he's one of the few members of the current squad who's of a standard to be starting in the Championship.

Playing alongside a solid centre back I don't think it's a problem.

Stranger things have happened. This rumor probably started before Pompey blew the playoffs on the last day of the season...oh dear...how sad

That guy is a local BBC reporter but I suspect it's more a case of linking Cowleys to past players than any specific info.

I hope the rumours are false suggesting Harry Toffolo is being strongly linked with signing for Danny Crowley at Portsmouth.

This couldn't have gone on the other Harry Toffolo to Portsmouth thread about 4 threads down? It's an unbelievably lazy rumour anyway I'm not sure it even warranted 1 thread. Edit. I'll grant you the other one is in transfer rumours and not the main board so that's why you maybe missed it.

Nigel Adkins when he first came to prominence at Scunny used to get Atkins in the papers and tv and radio never mind on a fan’s forum - whatever happened to him, did wonders at Scunny and Southampton, possible future England boss then so so with Reading, Sheff U and Hull, linked with Town and disappeared?
