Ten “shocking” football transfers to highlight never say never in football
Figo Barca to Real Madrid
Cantona Beeston to Man U
Tevez Man U to Man City
Campbell Spurs to Arsenal
Johnston Celtic to Rangers
Jennings Tranmere to Bayern
Torres Liverpool to Chelsea
Pele Santos to NY Cosmos
Redknapp Pompey to Saints to Pompey
And closer to home Stewart Town to Ipswich
I can do a much longer list, as I’m sure can most of you reading this, so how can anyone say Toffolo will NOT ?

Bullshit media reporting. However, if he did go (and it wont be a league 1 club) then I would be disappointed but he is most certainly not irreplaceable.

It probably depends on whether Dean Hoyle wants a new conservatory or not this summer.

Toffolo was brilliant in the first 3/4 months of the season, returning unbelievable stats running wise. He then dipped a little understandably given his efforts then got injured. A shadow of himself on his return to first team action playing like he was looking after himself. I know nothing, but classic signs of a player who’s had his head turned.

Maybe so, but not by a League 1 club though.

If he goes it would be for a few million possibly 5ish? Decent chunk out of the club debt and hopefully enough to strengthen and get Tommy Cowan back.
Sadly everyone in the team is for sale at the right price, apart from maybe hoggy who probably wouldn't go. We have to accept we are a wheeler dealer club once again and the Premier league money and more has been pissed against a wall.

He returned to action after just one training session. Maybe we brought him back too early but we we're desperate because of our lack quality cover at left back.

Hardly fair to judge him.

I think his injury is a more serious thing than maybe it's been presented as. Given the fact he'd had over 100 consecutive starts before he got injured I suspect he'd been run into the ground a little. A slow return at the back end of the season and a bit of time off over the summer will do him a world of good.

I think Toffolo will leave.
But to a League 1 club? No chance.

You can probably name the number of footballers in world football on one hand who aren't for sale for the right price.

Someone comes in with £5m, £10m, £15m and Hogg stays does he? (Not that anyone would, but he is still for sale).

Strange to release Pompey’s goalie on a free if they had an interest in Toffs

Toffolo saying that things are exciting for next season... “It’s an exciting time and one that the fans, as much as you don’t agree with me right now…you should feel excited about the future.”..has he seen the 5 international players we're bringing over from Spain, Portugal and Brazil ??

Possibly ties in with hints from a couple of posters on here that something significant has happened to positively impact on Town’s financial situation.

I think toff might be spinning a line to try and cheer up fans. Fingers crossed it's more like Phil has sold part of his business and will invest that

My original point was that more than 99% of footballers in the world are for sale, so yeah they will be, as will the players at any club.

I'm assuming that all of that first sentence was a joke, not just the Tommy Cowan bit? Less than 200 appearances at nearly 26 and only about 50 of those at Championship level is hardly going to get anyone to part with £5m ish. £1m tops I reckon, but we'll never find out anyway. Once O'Brien has gone (and I don't think he's worth anywhere near £5m either) the days of any of our players going for that kind of money will be well behind us I think.
