TAA is better than the other three put together...going forward. Defensively he is weaker, but let's be honest he's a cracking player. Technically the best striker of a ball by a country mile in the squad too.

TAA should be there. He is far better going forward than Trippier and theres no much between them defensively. Trippier has just won La Liga in a team conceding only 25 goals. TAA will be torn apart by any winger worth his salt. Not if said winger was on the back foot all game. Best form of defense is attack. It would take a brave opposition team to have a winger sticking high up the pitch while leaving their defensive left back with a constant 2/3 V 1 situation. The likes of Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid if a national side would walk these Euros. Croatia, Scotland and Czech Republic don't have that much strength in depth, nor consistent world class quality across 11 players. That's no disrespect to them. It will all depend on how Southgate setups up, if he sets up defensively while playing a high press counter I can understand a defensive minded RB, but If playing on the front foot with over lapping fullbacks/wing backs then the choice of all full backs and left backs are good ones. I feel confident with Chillwell, Shaw, James, Trippier, TAA and Walker (weakest technically and poorest creativity of them all).

Seriously, I'd take Scotland's midfield over ours any day of the week. Armstrong, Christie, Gilmour, McGinn and McTominay are better than Rice, Mount, Henderson, Bellingham and Phillips. LOL

5/1 is the best price on France, along with England, I can't see beyond France though. Put 50 notes on them, pays for your season ticket next season. I know there's a patriotic angle but I can't get my head around England being 5/1. First decent side will do us over.

I'd like England to win the thing, same as every tournament finals we compete in.
Obviously a tough ask, but I don't get the psychology of Southgate when he says we'll have failed if we don't make the semi finals.
Surely a failure is not winning the thing?
Why doesn't he just say nowt, or is it simply the media that have to have a storyline?
Give it your best, hope we get a bit of luck, see what happens.

I couldn't care less, won't be watching it unless it happens to be on TV somewhere and I glance in that direction. You care so little that you thought you'd go on to a thread about something that you have no interest and tell people that you have no interest? I never understand these kind of posts. Why waste your time on things you care not a jot about?

Not so sure, feel home advantage could be a real plus at this Euro’s and England are way overdue a trophy at some point preferably in my lifetime. We have as talented a squad as anybody else, better than most and as long as the players selected are not physically / mentally tired from a strange season of domestic games coming thicker and faster than usual then think this could possibly be the Tournament we can finally win. I too was that excited kid expecting a win in previous World Cups, Euros and as a young adult during Italia 90 watching in drunken Greek hotspots, Inbetweener Film style!🍺 Still get the same buzz as an overgrown man child and would celebrate an England Win with equal gusto as I would for my own team. Probably like many of you I mix socially with supporters of many different teams large and small and England in a Tournament is our chance to all sit in a Pub together and cheer the same team exactly the same as we would our own. Believe we have a great chance and I for one am that excited child again.......now where’s my Fixture Wallchart? 😉🏴

Football has kept me sane and has been a welcome distraction and long May that continue. Honestly believe we have a talented enough squad no matter what you think about Southgate’s selections to have enough to win it. Vindaloo! Vindaloo! 🏴👏👏👏

Take out Kalvins 'tenacity' and make him pass the ball to a more 'experienced' international and southgate will not use him properly? I fear a dull England struggling with it all again. Can he misuse Grealish enough? Hope I'm wrong..

Watch with an open mind and you will see, excellent at winning it back, tidying up and distributing to the right players. Also fit and will keep going to the very end. 😉

What side would you pick from that selection then? For me it'd be a 4-3-3 with Henderson Trent Maguire Stones Chilwell Mount Rice Bellingham Sancho Kane Foden Grealish would've walked into the lineup but for his injury earlier this season. Don't really care who plays at right back and could sub any of the others in tbh, they're all really good. If Pope was fit he'd start for me. Its a real shame he missed out. I think Pickford has played better than Henderson recently, despite my criticism of him in the past. So Pickford Walker Stones Maguire Shaw Rice Mount Bellingham Foden Kane Grealish Think Southgate will go
Pickford Trippier Walker Stones Maguire Shaw Rice Henderson Foden Kane SterlingSadly, providing Henderson is fit, I think you've nailed it. If he's not fit he'll definitely pick another defensive midfielder.
