If they're having to rely on Portsmouth's Director of Football to be a family friend of their next target and for his parents to be teachers for them to get a connection then they're going to struggle. We were led to believe it was because they'd done some work at Arsenal the previous summer and had a close connection with the club through that but there was no mention of that in the article.

And yet we are now much better off with CC and Bromby

And yet we are now much better off with CC and Bromby Imagine Corberan's squad of last season with the added availability of - Chalobah, Smith-Rowe, Lossl, Andy King, Karlon Grant, Mounie, (and even Stankovic, Coleman, Kachunga, Danny Simpson & Hadergjonaj). I reckon that would be a guarantee of an increase of more than 2 points which was the deficit this past season compared to the Cowley season. It's not the manager/coach that is letting things down, he has done incredibly well with the tools he's been given to work with (just as Cowley's did, although not quite as well, given they had better/more tools).

I don't know why it disliked it, I kept getting some error saying I was banned. He did a good job tbh, but made everything about him. Just seems that way and hasn't shown anything since to suggest otherwise. When he's been on TV, he's just a cringe of a bloke. Does seem a bit hung up when it comes to someone mentioning us

I think your calculator is letting you down. The Cowley brothers got 50 points off 39 games - 1 more point than this season from 7 (Seven) games fewer. Happy to help 😀

In fairness there was quite a big deficit when you factor in Carlos had 7 more matches than the Cowleys and still picked up less points (albeit 1 point less rather than 2). In terms of points per game he would have to make up ten points over a 46 game season.

CC doesn’t strike me as an especially good man manager
When the cowley’s arrived the club stank of defeat - players and in the stands. They stopped the rot and left the club stabilised
CC wouldn’t have been the man to do that job after siewert IMO

They stopped the rot and left the club stabilised CC wouldn’t have been the man to do that job after siewert IMO Pretty sure he wouldn’t. The Cowleys came in when we picked up one point from six games and we had a record of one from seven matches in the 19-20 season when they weren’t in charge. This has a striking similarity to “the great escape” season under Peter Jackson which people still go on about to this day. Corberan on the other hand, according to Wikipedia has been sacked and “replaced” in his two previous roles as head coach in Cyprus. Cowley meanwhile has 5 promotions. When comparing the Cowleys to Corberan I ask would Corberan have done as well as Cowley did at Concord, Braintree, Lincoln and Town and would Cowleys have done as badly as Corberan has done in Cyprus?

I didn't realise we had any. I thought Bromby and Phil just phone around and pick up bargain basement EoL rejects?

All managers have different backgrounds and skillsets. The only useful thing is comparing what they actually did. Fwiw, swap the managers with their seasons and we'd have got relegated both times, for different reasons

Apart from those we got on loan in January. After which we went downhill faster than Franz Klammer That’s not actually true. We began February in 19th place having played 29 matches like everyone else around us (just after we’d brought in the loan players) and eventually finished 18th so we went up a place. We actually went up 2 places after the West Brom game (again having played the same number of games as those around us) before they were sacked.

We were 19th going into the match at Boxing Day.

Probably will happen if/when Arsenal sign Maddison Struck me as such an odd rumour when I first saw it. ESR probably isn't as good right now but has a much higher ceiling and doesn't appear to be as much of a knob. Arsenal are weaker in so many other areas
