Id never heard of Jordan Rhodes before we signed him from Ipswich. Never heard of toffolo Pipa or Smith Rowe Never heard of Duncan Shearer. Tom Cowan or Ronnie Jepson Id heard of Danny Simpson though. I'd never heard of Neal Trotman But the phont of all knowledge(according to his own testimony) had never heard of Alex Pritchard or Tom Ince before Town signed them. What are the odds..

Bet you until a few hours before he is quoted as saying this he CC had never heard of the bloke! How much are you proposing to bet? And what is your definition of a "few"? Will 3 be about right? Or maybe 4

So Pipa is going to be #terrier-outbound, so could this fella as I suspected be the starting right back?

I strongly suspect that anybody* leaving between now and the close of the transfer window** would be replaced. So IF Pipa leaves, a replacement comes in (& money is possibly freed up to bring in more than just 1 player). * Exception = youth players leaving on loan for 1st team action lower down the pyramid. ** Exception = if we get a stupidly high offer for a player at the last minute, in which case we strengthen in January.

The midfield is weaker than last year already so January may be just too far away to save us.

I would hope that the detriment to our season of having no replacement was factored into the asking price. If we're into the last week before the window closed, I would say the asking price for all players should go up every day.

That is OK as we have shown that we do have a weakness in bringing in players close to the deadline for transfers. I would like to know what good a pot of money will do us if we find that we are being overrun in midfield every game and we end up in the relegation zone once again. Even if we are not down in January, anyone coming in will have to hit the ground running and help turn the performances round from the rest of the team to survive in the Championship. This is not good planning and I would say that if we did this we would be at best hanging on for yet another season. We would end up becoming another Bradford City after two seasons in the sun.

As good as LoB is (and I am a fan of his), I don't think he alone could be the difference between relegation & mid-table security. Even if he was though, every player should have a price. A good pot of money that can be invested in January & then the following summer (& beyond) would stand us in good stead & prevent us becoming another Bradford.

I was using O'Brian as he is the most likely midfielder to leave us. We are weaker in this area than we were last year already and if the club thinks that we can afford to lose one of our better midfielders without a decent replacement until the January window without it impacting results, they must be mad. We struggled to keep in this division last season and so far we have improved our strength in depth but not the first 11 for full backs and goalkeeping. Midfield weaker, and in attack as I said before we are hoping that Rhodes can roll back the clock 6 years. The window is not closed so I still believe that if the squad stays as it is now, we will struggle mightily again next season if we allow another midfielder to leave without an adequate replacement. If we tart badly and things go against us it can take some turning around. We saw it last year it could happen again. Remember our inability to get a striker in the January window and the desperate search for out of contract fillers to get us over the line. I hope that we have a plan and that we make certain that any late bids have to have a huge premium on them and we have a backup plan to get a loan or a replacement in at short notice.
