Every signing so far apart from Rhodes are all very similar in terms of career history and character type. It seems our criteria this summer is:
Hitting prime years of career Played a lot of games / rarely injured Known for being a grafter and giving 100% every day Good person around the dressing room, good leaders Solid performers every game. Comments from fans of where they're leaving have all been along the lines of "consistent, rarely below 7/10"
Now this will be a nice change from some of the nobheads we've had pretending to be professional footballers. However, it is a bit of a risk in terms of whether they actually have the ability at Championship level to go with their guaranteed effort.

I’m happy if a starting centre back or backup fullbacks can be regular 7/10 performers. If it means Pipa isn’t played out of position or we have to rely on Brown/Duhaney (5/10 at best) then it’s an improvement. If we get some creativity in midfield and the wings we will be looking better than this season.

As long as you give 100% you'll be given a few nice claps from town fans. Much prefer this type of signing, as you say where they are at their peak. Coming from League One I think they'll have something to prove and will see Huddersfield as a bigger club and an obvious step up. This also puts more pressure on Toffolo and Pipa who were guaranteed starters when fit last year, which may keep their levels higher throughout the season. All good signings so far. Next, IMO we need to improve the actual starting 11 so if Mbenza and Bacuna can fu*k off soon that would be lovely.

Most new signings for most clubs can be an unknown quantity TBF... Especially at our level. We might not see the David Wagner moment again, but maybe these lads will provide us with a much more rounded, effort based approach, no prima donnas, no hierarchy etc.

We should never be in a position again like last season , where in one game we had no forward players on the pitch. We must have consistently had the weakest bench in the league last season.

These 2 full backs seem a bit like Cranie and THD, not quite the same level as the starters but won't let anyone down if needed and give us good depth on the bench, especially Turton who is experienced solid cover in multiple positions

I still think we need to stregthen the first 11 however you have got to say the signings are better than what we previously had
Sanogo > Rhodes ✅ Duhaney > Turton ✅ Stearman > Pearson ✅ Pereira > Nicholls✅ J Brown > Ruffels ✅
Squad depth is better as a whole.

Definitely. Good solid pros being brought in but ones with a few years left in them. Suppose the key is whether we upgrade on Schindler, Eiting, Mbenza, Bacuna and Pritchard because if we don't then we are going to struggle. Good start though.

Starting to feel that Pipa and Toff are off with these two coming in. Prime of career players coming to sit on the bench?

So had a nosey on the Oxford Website. They have different threads for each player that are open for sometimes years on end. There is one for this kid so interesting reading the same comments time after time over the period stretching back to last June.
General consensus is he’s a good pro. Rarely injured (til he comes here). However the concern was the constant theme that he’s a converted CM to LB and whilst decent going forward gets destroyed against the better L1 wingers. Apparently Malik Wilks gave him absolute nightmares. There are several Mentions of the fact they think champ wingers would have a field day 1 on 1 with him but guess time will tell.
The reason I found their fans comments interesting were that they weren’t just tainted and bitter as we fans sometimes get once we know someone is going. As I say they dated back up to 12 months.

I think you wanted to say that Rhodes is BETTER than Sanogo, but what you actually said is the exact opposite. Again, apologies for being an arsehole.
