If they didn't make it look totally amateur with that shield and all the white space it may look OK. I still think there's too many things pointing in different directions though. That's my main gripe, it is just that, amateur! It has clearly been done on the cheap by someone who thinks they know photoshop. Wouldn't surprise me if it was one of Hoyles sons or some kid they had on work experience once. Just focussing on that top section alone I can pick it apart: It's 2021, no way should the main logo of a professional football club, and one that was in the Premier League just a short time ago, be that bad! Especially when it was re-looked at just 2 years ago! Could we seriously not afford a design agency just to spend a few hours taking a look at it? Even in the examples from here Evolution of Logo the one from 1970 is actually better! What a joke that is with the tools we have available in design these days. THIS is the content I'm here for! A stroke-by-stroke critique of a logo - splendid. If that sounds sarcastic, it's really, really not - I took a week out of lockdown to learn Illustrator - not going to be asked to design a club any time soon, but it's actually quite instructive.

I know I'm going against the grain here but I never really had an issue with the revamped dog in the PL years. Think the one in the badge on this thread looks like a startled ewok. Agree. It’s only a stain as it coincided with a disastrous season. You have to move with the times and look forward. Nope, it's a stain because it's fucking shit

Fantastic Media, who designed the brilliant (in my opinion) Terrier logo obviously had nothing to do with this absolute mess. I bet it pains them to see it to be honest. If you zoom in and look closely this Twitter post shows a new that they had worked on. they clearly realised how cluttered it already was, and pulled elements out rather than cramming even more in. Also, interesting that they made it monochrome too. Looks a million miles better than what we have now. I’d still prefer the Terrier on the shirt, but better applied. Embroidered on a patch, and not the rubber sticker crap. Keep the as the official badge, but the Terrier on shirts like Liverpool do. I noticed Arsenal have just the cannon logo on their away kit for next season, probably testing the water before having on the home shirt too. Looks great.

What even more bizarre is Hoyle is big mates with the bloke who owns Fantastic Media.
Unless he’s someone else he pretends he barely knew now too.

It’s what we’ve come to accept as the norm isn’t it? Rank amateur, doing things cheap. As you say, it’s not done by someone who’s professional. If I was Phil I’d be PM’ing you to redo it and then once he’s paid you, employ you to run that side of things at town. It’s been embarrassing for far too long. Don’t even get me started on the utter skip waste the shop attempts to sell. If they peddle that fucking England flag polo shirt at me one more time...

They do those cheap polos every two years like clockwork and it never fails to wind me up The overall graphic design coming out of the club is utterly amateur and has been since we went down from the Prem
