Seems unfair that Hartlepool fans have to travel nearly 300 miles, on a Sunday, whereas Torquay fans have a jaunt of less than a 100. Why not Wembley? Czech game not till Tuesday.

Does it make much difference to get to Bristol compared to London from Hartlepool?
Train to York and then Grand Central to Bristol is better than someone from the north east having to try and negotiate London whilst pissed - also is definitely much easier to drive and guarantee being able to park up somewhere.
(although you'd think somewhere like Birmingham would make more sense).

Yup, Villa Park would have been the most sensible stadium to use and probably a similar distance for both clubs and fans to travel.

Hartlepool to Birmingham is 184 miles, so yes would have been a better option in distance terms.

There's no way they'd have waited until the week before the game to decide where it was going to be played based on who the 2 teams involved are

Might be waiting a while for a Grand Central to Bristol [/trainspotter] He probably means Cross Country. Used to do that from my time in the South West to Leeds regularly. From memory: Plymouth, Totnes, Newton Abbot, Exeter St Davids, Tiverton Parkway, Taunton, Bristol Temple Meads, Gloucester ( sometimes), Cheltenham, Birmingham New St, Derby, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Wakefield Westgate, Leeds. At times it was a real grueller, especially coming back home on the Friday. At least the train ride was overtime!

Looking after Southern supporters as usual.

All the Torquay fans will be fucking skint thanks to Covid.
Maybe that's the reason.?

They’re in the play off final, I don’t think they will care too much where it is taking place

There's no way they'd have waited until the week before the game to decide where it was going to be played based on who the 2 teams involved are Absolutely, but at the time they decided on Ashton Gate the teams in the playoffs were: Torquay Stockport Hartlepool Notts County Chesterfield Bromley That's four northern teams from six, and even Bromley are even almost three hours from Bristol. Absolute joke. May as well have played it at our ground.

I saw Hartlepool at Sutton United in the “last game in London before lockdown”, in March 2020, and have no doubt they’ll get back into L2 sooner or later. For that reason I hope Torquay United make it today, as they’ve struggled a lot since leaving L2 a good few years ago; they also finished as runners-up to SU, so deserve it if they do go up.

The Hartlepool keeper cocked up, not sure he should be steaming out there, of he foes, he's got to make sure he gets there first.

Almost as far off his line to save that as he was when he scored
