From the YP web site:- Here's a look at where the bookies think Barnsley, Hull, Huddersfield Town and every other side will finish in the 2021/22 Championship table, following today's big fixture release:
We are placed at 21 escaping relegation just one more time. This is probably partially down to last years performance, the number of players released and the players we have signed. I think that they want a few people to click and comment to get their figures up.
I think that the bookies may have us down there at this moment, but can we be surprised?
As I mentioned above we have let a number go and signed a few less, but with the window open our odds will change. We have more strength in depth at full back and goalkeeper and we have a new centre half who appears to be OK but is not a Schindler. Finally we have Rhodes back and we are all waiting to see what he will bring to the team.
On the signings we have made the first 11 is not any stronger than last year but should not vary as much with a few out injured. The crunch will come if/when we loose some more players. Bacuna and Mbenza are expected to leave and there are rumours that we may loose some more if this is the case, depending on their replacements 21st would be a good place to be.

A helluva lot will depend on ‘injuries’ A repeat of last season and we’re either cursed or we’re committing corporate vandalism by training highly paid assets to their injury.
A repeat in 2021/22 season and we might not scrape relegation this time....

Unless we add a few players that can improve the starting 11. We are hoping for three shitter teams than us again.
Plenty of time to add, but I'm not optimistic.

It relies on players going, namely, Bacuna and Mbenza before others come in. If things remain as they are we could struggle again. A lot depends on how much we can get out of Jordan Rhodes, hopefully he can get 15.

Yeah of course, we can’t defend, we're cats piss in midfield, we could be relying on his and Koroma's goals ti keep our heads above water.

Well - Barnsley lose their manager just before the season to West Brom. That could throw their preparation and planning into a mess and could put them down in the relegation mix again... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57554938

I think they have it spot on with who we currently have in the squad.

How can anyone make any predictions until we know exactly what the make up of our squad is?

How can anyone make any predictions until we know exactly what the make up of our squad is? Agreed early days. To date we appear to have improved the squad but not our first 11. Still look odds on for relegation but we have to hope we improve the first team. Goalkeeper, centre back, an Eiting replacement and first choice striker still required.

How can anyone make any predictions until we know exactly what the make up of our squad is? Well, people could make predictions based on the current quality of the squad. Or based on last season’s performances/results. Or extrapolate from the quality of recruitment over the last few years to predict the overall quality of the final makeup of our squad. Or a combination of the above. I’m not saying anyone’s predictions are right or wrong, but these ‘How can anyone...?’-type questions are pretty naive. There’s literally a multi-billion pound industry built around predicting sporting outcomes...

Not as naive as people making predictions before knowing the quality or lack of quality available in the squad. As today’s signing proves - all of a sudden things look a lot better.

Signings will definitely stop as many mistakes at the back leading to soft goals. I don’t see much attacking threat from us though, unless Koroma kicks on, but where are the assists coming from? I see a lot of 0-0 bore draws.

Start of last season we were doing ok before injuries bit. Most fans were content and so we're the board getting results and playing some decent stuff at times. out of that general starting 11 we have lost Schindler/stearman,Eitling and Hammer. We need to replace these in terms of the quality they had to stand still. On the face squad depth better but first 11 needs a lift

Aren't those articles where you get a snippet of info, and then have to click to another page so that they can register more adclicks, just about the most annoying thing ever? This is bad enough, oftentimes I see something which sounds like it might be interesting, like, "Shocking - what Bo Derek looks like now (and some other people)" where you get ONE SENTENCE of info, along with a picture, and have to click up to 20 times or more to get to see Bo Derek, where you find she looks exactly like what you'd expect her to look like.

Rhodes and Koroma will bag 30 between them and the defence will be tighter. Chelsea lad will be a revelation and hopefully Keogh will pull a hamstring.
We'll be ok.

30 between them - are you having a laugh? Rhodes wont hit double figures again. Koroma has potential and if he starts well he'll probably be off to bigger and better things in January

If in the meantime Koroma moves on for big bucks then so be it. I repeat... we'll be ok.
