I couldn't see a thread on our young pups out on loan.
Kieran Phillips has had 2 90 minutes already with walsall both against Premier league opposition. The first game against Palace he did well and hit the bar late on with a nice touch and strike.
Last nights game against villa, he was a little isolated on his own up top but made some great runs off the ball.
2 full games for the lad can only bring him on, hope it continues and he starts finding the onion bag on a regular basis.

I thought Phillips looked to be our best striker when he used to come on

I thought Phillips looked to be our best striker when he used to come on In a couple of games, but then in the next looked not at the races. A good loan and hopefully plenty of goals will do wonders for him. He is a top lad as well, one of those that deserves any success he may have.

Must admit I'm very interested to see how he gets on. Hopefully he bangs in a load for Walsall & comes back ready to stake his place in the first team in 22-23.
There are a few others who could really do with a loan. Matty Daly, Romoney Crichlow, Josh Austerfield to name a few. Hopefully they get decent options this summer & kick start their careers.

These next two seasons are the big ones for him to see how far he can go.

Yep. In developmental terms you could argue that he's effectively a 19 year old. Him being a late developer is a given.
For comparison, Romoney Crichlow is 22.

Crichlow was a big disappointment last season, in that he looked so good against Forest, but then never pushed on. Almost like he thought he'd made it with one MOM performance.

Or, he was stuck behind Naby Sarr & Sarr's height alone in a side that otherwise lacked height was enough for CC (rightly or wrongly) to leave Crichlow out. I'm not sure all the blame could fairly be placed on RC.

I think a lad who's been what he has will have a lot more to his character. Probably just management opting for more experienced players; players further into their development.

Yep. I'm happy with all of those. All at good clubs at a level that's appropriate for their stage of development.

They look good loans for all those players - all should get regular game time and be part of their respective first teams
If we can also get Jackson a loan to a football league side next and then I think we’re set

Everyone other than Chapman all on their respective clubs subs bench this afternoon Crichlow, Phillips and Daly all came off the bench today In fairness REG, Daly and Crichlow have only been at there clubs a matter of 100 hours or less

I think Jon Russell signing also changes the pecking order for CM in the B team. Russell has arrived having played 25 games for Accrington at League One level. That’s the kind of game time we hope our youngsters get and also at a higher level than all except REG Like you it would be good to see Austerfield go out as I can’t see him factoring too often with the first team this season

Matty Daly starting for Hartlepool, Crichlow starting for Swindon, REG starting for Rovrum. And Kieran Phillips starting for Walsall, although I'd be surprised if they're utilising him in the manner that the BBC suggest. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58066033

Scored in the penalty shootout however his team mates weren't as good! From the BBC report : Kieran Phillips had two great opportunities either side of the break for the hosts but was thwarted by Tom Anderson's last-ditch tackle and then steered wide with only Dahlberg to beat.

It is good the SWindon fans liked Crichlow but also interesting to note in one of the last posts there where someone put up some Cambridge fans comments, the Cambridge lot picked him out too (Swindon no 5)

He's a player I have high hopes for & I'm glad he's gone to a Lg2 outfit. He should get plenty of game time and if he has a bad game then he'll probably get a bit more leeway. Allows him o make his mistakes at a level where it won;t cost as much.
Late developer he may be, but I rate him.
