Personally, I think Ennius, Mel and Steve have acted in such an unacceptable fashion that it is impossible for them to contribute anything if value on here. No one should be able to treat another member, or admin, in this way. I’m all for banning the lot of them. They’ve made their bed, they can lie in it. We won't ban them for this Ted. They haven't broken the rules of this forum. They'll still say I'm fair game and justify sharing my address with some spurious bollocks, and will still think somehow the banning of Oti was my doing, thus insulting Kenny and Rigsdon's integrity (couldn't care about them insulting mine) and they'll still claim that anyone I take exception to gets banned without due process. But to those who have reached out, I'm grateful. All but one, actually. TownRWe has reached out but seeing as he's spent the week stoking the embers of this fire I hold him equally responsible for creating an environment where people would consider this ok. So we won't ban people. But as well as a skin thicker than yer nan's rice pudding I do have a long memory. I won't forget this. Make me, Ted, Lard Buttie and Space Hardware admins for the day. We’ll call a vote to ban them all. No matter what the substantive admins do, we’ll have a majority. We’ll then all resign in time for tea and medals. |

We won't ban them for this Ted. They haven't broken the rules of this forum. They'll still say I'm fair game and justify sharing my address with some spurious bollocks, and will still think somehow the banning of Oti was my doing, thus insulting Kenny and Rigsdon's integrity (couldn't care about them insulting mine) and they'll still claim that anyone I take exception to gets banned without due process. But to those who have reached out, I'm grateful. All but one, actually. TownRWe has reached out but seeing as he's spent the week stoking the embers of this fire I hold him equally responsible for creating an environment where people would consider this ok. This'll be the 'its okay to be homophobic' forum that ProBoards have no doubt cleared. I think it will last a long time because no one will report anyone else on it, because everyone is of the same opinion. Good luck everyone just remember being homophobic and racist online has consequences. So is DATM as it is awash with homophobic and racist comment?. Think carefully before you dive in and answer this. There is plenty of homophobic content on DATM. I must admit though that a lot of it is from people quoting Otium and trying to defend him. |

I feel a bit sorry for Otium. All that life lived and he’ll only be remembered as being the poster boy of all the twats who inhabited this board. Reached out to help get his name and address removed and got told to jog the fuck on.... reached out to help calm the Otium problem initially and basically got the same response...... have a look at how many times I told you I wanted to work with you not against you. Offer the voice of Atthemac whilst remaining in a minority on Admin. The problem isn't me, it's your unwillingness to engage. Stupid one liners that take comment out of context, You dont need a thicker skin, you just need a mirror. You've had all week to engage with reasonable dialogue, to sort it out, what next I run an election poll and finish top 3... its totally unnecessary, we want a representative admin, not one that is abusive to members trying to be reasonable, not one that bans members that are disliked... you've already basically told me one step out of line and I'm gone. Posted on another thread that in and amongst all the fighting and insults there was some comedy gold but it’s all got a bit out of hand now hasn’t it.
Signed up to the new board out of curiosity but can’t see me going on there too much compared to this one as it’s just bitter and twisted at the moment. Maybe it’ll change but I doubt it.
Had a few spats with BigDaddyG myself but his treatment over the last 24 hours has been shocking. Wouldn’t blame him if he threw the towel in.

Ive made my thoughts on the banning of otium perfectly clear and all the hypocrisy and double standards around it.
But putting someones home address out there on some forum is totally out of order on every level.
Whoever did that needs to give their head a good fucking shake.
Im sure nothing will come of that grim, but you have my sympathies because that must be very unsettling.
As for starting boards for like minded people, doesn't that just defeat the object?
What you want.. and what I want DATM to be ( which is why I am really pissed off at what happened to otium ) is a board where people with different opinions come together and debate them.
So long as those opinions are legal and not promoting violence against anyone ( and like it or not Otiums views that he got banned for are actually very mainstream and held by many millions of people in this country ) then that is what a good board should be about.
We all get a bit arsey from time to time, but there's way too much toxic nastiness on this board lately. Some posters can't seem to make a post without insulting someone!
And you take your share of the blame for that grim because as an admin and someone who sets and implements the rules, you should set some sort of standard and frankly you haven't.

Had a look at the new site earlier today….. took 30 seconds to decide it’s not for me based on comments about homosexuality etc.
Now I read this thread and see that BDG’s address has been posted and I am appalled.
Don’t agree with him on loads of shite…..

Nothing wrong with this board just needs a shift in administration to make it fair and representative. The site is by the fans for the fans and you have to accept the diverse opinions and characters that 16000 people brings with it. If you line 16000 people up in their political persuasion then the far left and the far right will clash, if its not illegal then who really cares. If it gets daft chuck them off for 24hrs until they sober up. The major problem is you have posters like tedchips (sorry Ted, I like you like marmite really on toast) who get away with lefty leaning bullshit and then otium who gets ostracised for his right leaning bullshit (sorry otium no offence just making a point) So. 1.Rules need updating and bans need to take alot longer to ever get to life and it should be some serious harm. 2. Admin needs two from the other side on it. I actually think I'd do a good job as I'm literally as fair as they come... I even offered an olive to Grim, he told me jog the fuck on, but I still requested it was removed for him anyway. BUT I'm about as popular with the left side as Grim is with the right. I think they would accept two defectors but nobody put their hand up when I asked. 3. Have a poster amnesty. Bring back nick, moaner and otium. Have then on a two yellow warning before a rest of season ban from day one. Let's be honest non of them are any worse than Ted or that bloke that spams fuck me rigid everytime, just right not left. Needs sorting, it's not hard, I'll help and step down. I'll be admin until I can be replaced democratically with all positions up for grabs. |

Everyone posting on this forum is a Town fan. Those who become admins of the forum are doing so because they love the club, and they want to support the informal means by which fans can express a view. They do the best that they can, in the circumstances they are faced with. Unfortunately, the task is made more difficult by deliberately inflammatory attention seekers, who (because they are generally seen as entertaining posters) are given substantially more latitude than others. Posting home addresses of the admin (or any other member of the forum) is a disgrace, and those who do it should be ashamed of themselves, whether they do it on this forum or another. Shameful and cowardly.

Except to defend a comment such as this Ted simply has to stage he was posting his opinion and you'd have to prove he didn't believe it when he said it. Maybe you could tell Otium that the legal defence of Honest Opinion would see any case against me for calling him homophobic based on his description of gay people as "deviants" laughed out of any court in the land. If you hadn't banned him you could have told him your fukin self . Tell your mother to pass me the salt son . And I also think it is disgusting to post an address on an internet forum. |

This past few days has reflected a few posters in a bad light and, tbh, I would have perhaps expected you to align yourself with those lauding the new forum. That you haven't is a pleasant surprise and one for which I have developed a new respect for you. |
