We are seven games in and have started better than pretty much all of us could have hoped. We've had a good chance to judge the new signings. IMO they've all contributed massively to where we are but our best signing of the summer for me is Nicholls. I barely notice him in games, which is clearly a good thing.

Tough one between Nicholls and Colwill. Our top scorer hasn't done bad either!

Nicholls over Schofield is worth double figure points over a season, even as many as 15 to 20
I questioned the signing but he looks very good so far

Nicholls for the difference he has made to the backline. But Tom Lees has not put a foot wrong in Town colours yet. Leader and dependable centre half. Just gets the job done.

I'm with you on that one, the whole defence is so much more efficient and calm with him in goal. That confidence then spreads throughout the team as a whole. Thomas has effectively been a new signing, Colville, Lees and Pearson I would say have been good acquisitions

Nicholls oozes confidence. Dare I say it he is having a better impact than Lossl first did

Nicholls because the other three contenders are centre halves so you could argue removing one doesn’t make much of a difference.

I’d say Nicholls but honestly we’d have struggled to have done worse than Schofield or the other dross keepers we signed. Tom Lees is my pick, not put a foot wrong closely followed by Pearson.

Nichols, lees, Pearson and colwill
All massive improvements on last season.
No surprise that is also improved sarr.
Our defence has been poor for a while and now we look much stronger.
Obvs add in sorba and sinani and our attacking play also looks far more dangerous. Especially from set pieces

For me it is between Nichols and Lee but all the signings have been very good, pity we didn't get that lad from Man City but i am more than happy with our squad now, a long way to go but at least we are looking forward to the game's now.

Difficult to split Lees and Pearson for me. Just uncomplicated, solid defending at one end and a genuine goal threat at the other.
All the new signings who've played a significant part so far have been good though.

Playing the percentages better is part of good defending.

And to think how much both men were being lauded by the experts on here as poor signings, before they'd even kicked a ball in a Town shirt.

If we could ever afford 3 centre backs who are quick, defend well and could play a bit, we will be back in the Premier and it would be our 3rd season surviving there. Stop conceding and move on from there.

Yes, i still think we are left a bit light in Centre-Midfield, in terms of numbers/quality. A couple of injuries and we'll be powder puff. Stark contrast to the vast array of wide options we have. Will be interesting to see how/if Pipa fits back in when fit.

So far for me, Tom Lees, on account that he's barely put a foot out of place. Think he was a little shaky for the first 5-10 mins on his debut (fully understandable) but since then he's been an absolute rock.
And to think I eye-rolled when we signed him too! Sorry, Tom.

Nichols, Tom Lees, Pearson, Colwill all solid. A mixture of experience & potential. For me the signing of Rhodes was only if Campbell was leaving so poor decision 2 of the same IMO. Along with the Blue Eyed Boys Ward & Holmes. Mind boggling to give them long contracts. You've got to take a chance & some won't work out we all know that. There was some strong opinions on all 3 long before they signed their final jackpot. But it's a long season so see how they do. And good luck to them cause there going to need it.

We were well on top actually until that goalkeeping error. Not saying we’d necessarily have won, but we had started brightly and looked threatening

Nicholls for the reasons said, but I can see pearson being the best long term. He just instantly reminded me of town fans' favourites

I think the fact we’ve started well and not seen Ruffels, Pipa, Mipo and Rhodes properly yet is a huge bonus .
We were all sceptical of the recruitment but it’s been bang on in most if not all cases

I`d say Nicholls cos he's barely made amistake so far this season, and to be perfectly honest i`d barely heard of him when we signed him, i was underwhelmed by our pre season signings but so far along with last seasons signing Thomas they`ve worked out superb.
