Can’t understand why there are such big queues at the bars before the the game and at half time. I mean, I can, but why the fuck can’t they serve everyone faster? They must be missing out on so many sales.

It is incredible how poor and slow the service is. Been to so many grounds where service is so efficient and its not difficult, all you have to do in most cases is have someone constantly pouring pints so they are ready to go although I fear implementing that would be beyond the staff we have working at the stadium. That then caters for 75% of orders and the other 25% ordering pies, soft drinks etc is a quick transaction anyway.

Need deep pockets for the outside streetfood thing. £5-6 for a hotdog?

I bought a drink at Riverside Lower kiosk.
Staff obviously new and inexperienced.
That I can cope with, they’ve got to learn. But the lass that served me was also rude and ignorant - no excuse for that.

Its not everyones taste but i reckon it would do well. Grimsby are doing it differently and anything different than the norm will be scrutinised. Pies are boring tbh, ill still eat em although i preferred pie and peas at gas club tbh. Change is good. They have new owners and ideas.... Funnily enough having sell outs in the conference with all the changes, the respect between owner and fans. It works. Change is good in this kind of way, trial and error. But so far theyre approving

People providing front line services who can't even be pleasant to their customers. And I speak as a person whose job involves providing a front line service. If you can't be friendly and pleasant, then fuck off and find a job that doesn't require these basic customer service skills.

The trick is to drink reasonably priced decent beer in the pub before. Get something to eat. Avoid all food and drink between 3 and 5. Its 2 hours. Start drinking reasonably priced decent beer again.

The efficiency of the bar staff in the riverside lower yesterday was appalling. I went down before the half time whistle and queued and still didn’t get served until just before the second half. Ended up missing the first 5 minutes (which admittedly wasn’t a bad thing on the day). Why can’t they pre pull some pints and have them lined up ready to go like they do in rugby union? It’s not like these will be wasted!

Can't people last 2 hours without a pint? Yes, but for some people having a drink before the game or at half time is part of the ritual. The club obviously see this as part of the match day experience and must be part of a way to increase revenues. That’s why they’ve changed some of the food and drink options but the slow service must mean they’re missing out on some of the latter.

Had such a terrible journey up from Worcester that I didn’t get in until the 74th minute. Thought a 0-0 wasn’t too bad.😂

First time in a while I’ve been down yesterday, and service inside was worst I’ve ever seen, 4 attempts to pull a pint, they didn’t know what beer was what, or which pie was which hahah, quite liked the new bit going on outside in car park, but as the winter roles in I’m not so sure that will work,

This has been a problem for as long as I can remember. The bar staff are useless and there's never anyone in charge. There really is no excuse now that we are a 'cashless' stadium. It's pretty much impossible to get a half time pint without missing 15 minutes of football. As the original poster said, they must be losing out on hundreds of pounds in sales.

Agree with that, in pubs, shops, supermarkets, public transport etc, i suppose dealing with ignorant and awkward people is part of the training but its still going to test your patience.I think we've all seen examples where some obnoxious ignoramus is getting mouthy and you wish those on the recieving end would just slot em.

Turning up pissed is a no go, given yesterday would have sobered you up pretty quickly.
In the second half I found myself considering her indoors choices of 'new' colours for the Summer house.
I was considering what paint would look like when it dried!!!!!!!

A hot fondue on a cold Tuesday night would be cracking even if it was ‘just cheese’.
