What happens to this squad if we get promoted? The best thing about it is the team spirit and togetherness, so common sense tells me additions should be minimal. But if we get promoted we will need more quality all over the pitch.
At the moment I think we only have 3 players, O'Brien, Colwill, and Nicholls, where I'm convinced they'll adapt straight away. Others could surprise us (VLP stepped up much better than Kachunga last time for example), or take a little bit to adapt to the level, but surely we'd need a few in. But how many? And who?

If, and it's a big if, learn from the previous 2nd season debacle, bring in a bit of quality if available at a decent price, and just accept we're coming straight back down. No more spunking cash on half-arsed mercenaries who are only here for what they can milk us for.

Yep. Use as much of the windfall as possible to cement our position as one of the front runners in the championship. We're far more likely to come back down than establish ourselves in the PL and our investment should reflect that.
If we can get value, great - but in a sense we should forget trying to stay up & focus more on just building the club.

IF we go up, I’d like us to focus on signing top championship players who aren’t on inflated wages and want to play for the club.
Bank the money. I agree with the poster above.

If we go up , look to invest in top end championship talent … they’ll have something to prove in the prem and should we go down they’ll be good enough to go again .
Avoid the French market like the plague too .

There is of course an up side of not reaching the play offs. The recruitment team will be finding it really hard to plan for the future at the moment... do we need Premier League quality players, or stay with the Championship planning. We'd need PL players because besides Lee Nicholls and Lewis O'Brien, I can't see anyone good enough for the PL.

Just a blip against 1 very in form side and 1 very expensive side while our players are knackered. Hull is the perfect game to get us back on track. Fuck the defeatism we're going up

Only got 2 games between now and 11th of April, plenty of time to analyse what went wrong and hopefully correct it.

Most top Championship players have inflated wages these days, and when you look at how those types did for us last time around it wasn't great... Ince, Pritchard, Williams and Malone.
I would keep the nucleus and (an unpopular opinion) bring in some non-flashy premier league experience types as long as their character is right and they're willing to learn Carlosball. Honest pros like Ben Mee, Jack Cork, Adam Smith. They might not be right but you get what I mean. They'd take short term contracts so wouldn't be such a liability. Similar to Tom Lees, I trust Carlos to take those experienced pros and lift them to new levels.
Experienced pros get a bad rep, as we still think back to the days their legs were gone by the time they hit 32. But I think we're seeing this change as modern day pros avoided the days of players not looking after themselves and boozing whenever they get the chance.
I think we'd need to take a couple of punts on strikers though. Darryl Dike could be one as I think he scores all types of scrappy goals, which is what we'd need to rely on.

Adebayo on the end of Thomas's deliveries would be just the ticket, there's a reason we were in for him before. Would be a sideways move though frankly so would be surprised if it's seen as worth going for. We need someone with his profile though, big aerial presence and years ahead of him.

Although I highly doubt that reason was Sorba, given we only signed him a fortnight or so before attempting to sign Adebayo, and none of us (CC included - he's admitted that he didn't see him as a regular starter at the beginning of this season) knew how good Sorba was going to get. If we go up though we could do a lot worse than go back in for him. I expect he'll cost a bob or two more than he would have had we signed him 18 months ago though!

Ola Solbakken RW, but can play across the front three. Major upgrade on Sinani and will cost less.
In fact, we should be scouting the whole Bodo/Glimt team, they’ve done really well in Europe, play a high energy brand of football and play as a team. They are everything we want to be.
Morelos, striker from Rangers.
Scott Twine, AM from MK Dons.
Ramsay, RB from Aberdeen.

If we go up...... Otium was predicting 14th in the league with this shower a few months back. The eternal pessimist or maybe he didn't have a clue!

To be fair, a week ago some on here were also 'predicting' we'd be about 10th now! To clarify - I said after the Hull game that depending on results elsewhere we COULD be 10th by the time we kicked off vs Luton. Which we could have. It was also possible that we could still have been 3rd now. By & large results were favourable to us between our last game & now but there was no pessimism there. Just a fact, neither optimistic nor pessimistic but entirely neutral.

With one proper striker and only one winger performing all season, there's no way we should be one of 6 teams looking for the 4 play off places with 5 or 6 matches to go. PS: If we win tonight and Friday, I'm not giving up automatic promotion yet!

If we reach the promised land will we buy sell or borrow extra players during the short summer? Carlos tends to look only to the next match. Will he have players in his mind? Will Heff know a few good German players. There must be many good English ones who are itching to play in the Premier,
