Nicholls in goal Turton or Pipa at right back Lees & Colwill at Centre half Toffolo at left back Hogg, O'Brien & Russell in Central midfield Thomas on the Right wing Ward at Centre Forward (Campbell & Rhodes to play 45 minutes each if he's not fit) Koroma on the Left Wing Eiting on the bench, as we desperately needed to bring someone on who could pass the ball last night! Don't move O'Brien & Thomas from their best positions, it's stupid. With their physicality and his goal scoring V Boro, if Ward is not fit, get Naby up there

CC will set up 5-4-1 / 5-3-2 to match Boro. So Naby will fit into the back 3.

They have lost their last 2 games at home, if Hull can beat them, why not us. Fulham Hull Preston Birmingham Blackpool Q.P.R Have all won at Middlesborough. Not often a side near the top loses 3 at home on the bounce.

Looking forward to the trip up though. Never seen us win at the Riverside. I remember being in the directors box sat next to Brian Cox when we got a point at Ayresome Park in the 80s . He must have been injured I guess

I remember the last time we went there they were floating like a stone . I think they got relegated to the third tier and all the talk was that the grounds gates would be locked cos they were in such Dire straits . The attendance was something like 4500

Can we bounce back following a tepid performance against QPR? Hopefully the players will be up for this big Yorkshire derby đ but would expect changes after the last 30 minutes on Friday night where a number of players were blowing out of their arses. Boro seem to do better against good footballing sides, so I reckon we might have a chance. Come on, which side do you really support? That last lineâŚ

Come on, which side do you really support? That last line⌠He's still waiting for Town to "sneak into a top half finish" Seeing as it's Throwback Saturday "Got a feeling we're gonna drop like a stone. After our inevitable battering at Fulham we'll have 2 from 9. That's relegation form. Our true league position is probably 8th/9th as it stands. The FA cup will become a distraction. Fans will get on the teams back. Anyone who thinks we'll finish in the play offs is deluded. I think we will sneak top half" đ

Port Vale used to be a bogey for Town but Boro are a bogey dripping with snot.

Take a draw. Itâs another step towards play offs then and I cannot recall Us ever winning their which makes it all the more difficult

The price has put me off on a couple of occasions also. Blackburn was too expensive for one and was ready to purchase tickets and meet up with a couple of Lancashire friends but thought their club was taking the piss . Think our away support due to many factors as been bang average this year though. On Mondays game been upto boro a few times what an horrible away day , the stadium is in the middle of smog industrial land a dire place to visit and it doesnât help we never seem to win there ever, I canât go due to work but wouldnât be going anyway especially with it being on tv. I will after force myself if we play them in playoffs , just because itâs a long way to visit an absolute shithole of a place for 90 mins footy. Probably in my top 5 stadiums of not wanting to visit again in a rush.

interesting one this. Winning this one might allow Carlos to rest a few players against Barnsley.
Do we go all out to win? How is Wardy after coming off? Will Carlos go with Rhodes up front?
I think we'll lose this one to be honest. They might just be too physical for us.

4 games left and its all to play for, Boro have got a lot at stake too, so I expect an edgy game from them. For us though, this game is definitely winnable and I think and hope Town will approach it that way. The pressure is on the Boro not us. UTT

With our record there being so dire it feels like a free hit, we should rest a few (Hogg, Ward, Turton etcâŚ.) and go with the following.
Match them up positionally with three at the back and a strong midfield full of physicality and height.
Nichols Lees ⢠Colwill ⢠Sarr Thomas ⢠Anjorin ⢠Russel ⢠OâBrien ⢠Toffolo Rhodes ⢠Koroma
Subs: Blackman. Eiting. Sinani. Turton. Ward
I have Boro, in a similar bracket to Preston or Millwall physicality wise and itâd be awesome to turn up with some big players for once and put the shits up them from the start.
Obviously we would need Anjorin and Russel to have good games but Iâd like Anjorin particularly to start and grow into a game, and their physicality alongside Lees, Colwill & Sarr would surely intimidate.

If this was a Wednesday night in London you might be thinking another defeat since our last two losses were QPR (24 Nov) & Millwall (Mar 16), unbelievable record in the Championship which Boro will know & may be looking to not lose this one instead of going gung-ho for the win.........in which case we could nick it, more likely 0-0..UTT.

We can lose this one and it doesnât change anything.
We couldnât ask for a better final three fixtures than the ones we have got.
If we canât from our current position and points tally get enough from Barnsley and Bristol City at home and Coventry away to seal a play-off place. Then the reality is we donât deserve one.
A point or more at Boro would be excellent, a bonus.
