You've just invented a new rule A rule more sensible than the one that says outfield players using their hands to stop a goal can be sent off but a keeper stopping a back pass going in with his hands can't be. I'd bring back goalie when

Did the keeper get a yellow card?

Did the keeper get a yellow card? No cos the rules don't allow it 🤷♂️🙄

I'd bring back goalie when Hamer, Perreira and Schofield. So would I. Not wanting to single him out particularly but with schofield in nets this season how many points do we get ?

Dunno, it's not like Nicholls has saved us every week by pulling off big saves but he's given the defenders a confidence to do their job without having to worry about what's behind them. Can't imagine it'd have been the same with Ryan there.

There’s far more to goalkeeping than making great saves, not least the confidence a good goalkeeper gives the defence. That’s before you add in the points he’d have cost us with horrific errors. You only need to look at Fulham at home to get an indication as to how bad it would have been.

We were stood at the front at Sheff Utd and after five minutes you could see he was going to be a massive presence at the back. I don't think he'd even made any saves yet, but he was constantly talking and seemed to make everyone relax.

Our very own Kenny Irons once curled a quality free kick in for Tranmere, before realising it was indirect so he’d effectively kicked it out for a goal kick.
