On another note and not all on here can claim to have been there. I remember one of Warnock’s first matches in charge at Leeds road. We were playing Barnet at home and I think it was the equivalent of league 1 now?. Their start to the season was something like won - none / drawn one and lost 10 I think. They were rock bottom. They beat us at Leeds road……. The attendance I believe was circa 5,100 and I was one of them, on my own as well as nobody else could be bothered going. I walked out that day wondering why I bothered, I was of course back the following week and little did I know what Warnock was about to achieve…… Another one here and I can probably name the other 8 or nine I attended with, October 1993, 2 of whom are now passed on (RIP). We had a mini bus to the away game in January 94 which we won with a rare goal from Phil Robinson.

That was much the same as I was thinking. Might have gone had they had it at stadium with pie and peas supper and a pint thrown in but not at the Town hall. It's too big for him at that price. Pie and Peas and a stripper? Can we say that still? No but makes the £34.50 seem more worthwhile.

First thing I did when we moved back here after dad demobbed was buy a season ticket! Full price even though I'd missed (thankfully) the spanking that (I think) Reading handed out first home game!

How to get tickets ?
Nothing on the club website ?
Although I couldn’t even get on the website to renew my season ticket this week even though I’ve been a season ticket since 1985

The do's at the Town Hall, so I'd assume you'll need to buy tickets from their website or from the Town Hall itself.

Although I couldn’t even get on the website to renew my season ticket this week even though I’ve been a season ticket since 1985 It isn't anything to do with Town; it’s a private tour he’s doing up and down the country in areas where he’s managed teams. Tickets can be bought here: www.universe.com/events/neil-warnock-are-you-with-me-tickets-28MYVD

Really looking forward to this on Friday. Anyone else on here making the effort to go?
Twitter comments and images; looks like the tour has been playing to big audiences and is going very well.
Should be a great evening of nostalgia...

I’ve got a single ticket and can’t get off work. I’ll sell it for 25 quid (cost 35) if interested.

I remember standing in The Cowshed and asking the keeper if he knew how much piss taking I was going to get at school if we lost to Barnet. He never answered. It's great now to see the amount of kids (and adults) wearing Town shirts.

Whenever Lee Martin was in goal the Cowshed would all go, Lee, Lee Lee and punch the air a bit like when them wankers get a corner. We should bring back the Lee, Lee, Lee

Nothing to report that you wouldn’t have heard before other than he was lied to by the chairman when he left Town.
I read into that it was nothing exciting like shaggin his wife simply he wanted to be paid more money which he thought he’d get having won promotion.

There you go, lack of ambition from penny pinching Town, spans the decades.

NW didn’t elaborate but I didn’t get the more money reference. I thought he intimated he had an idea, which he then ran by the chairman and that he wanted to start something (I’m sure he idea was he wanted to open some sort of club shop in town but didn’t say anything to confirm that). Chairman then nicked the idea and did it himself.

It was something to do with a club shop in Town.
It was Warnocks idea and the club lied to him about it. Said they weren’t going to do it but did it anyway. I presume he thought he was meant to have a cut on it.
Either way, it was so stupid letting him go.
Jepson said tonight he thinks we would have gone up to the PL under Warnock if he’s stayed. Hard to argue against that as we were nearly in the Playoffs under Horton.

It all worked out fine in the end though, well until we sold Marcus to Ipswich(!) but we’ll always have the memories.
