I was waiting for the arrogant comment too after what I read last week but it was a normal comment, nothing wrong with it at all! Tbf, that's what most of us that saw the video last week said to the ones who were offended 🙄 Doesn’t take much for some people to be “outraged” these days. After initial outrage shock the next step is to tell all and sundry how outraged they are.

Anyone that says Simpson's comment is overly confident or arrogant is a complete and utter tool.
Remember when Jose Mourinho came to Chelsea from FC Porto and introduced himself as "The Special One"... The whole country/media treated it with intrigue and admiration!

He had just won the Champions League though. I'm aware of that. My point is Simpson's comments are so tame in comparison - yet some people still take issue. Surely you get the overall point?

You're not gonna pass up on a player you've tracked for a long time just because he has a standard football injury. You're looking for serious/underlying/re-occuring problems. Not too bothered he's injured, just glad it's over the line. Will take him a few months to settle in anyway. Oh come on they've tracked every player we've ever signed over a long time it's just the usual shite. Just like the 'once I knew they were interested they were the only club for me' Time will tell and I really hope it works out but they really do treat us like idiots with this press release guff eh? I've literally not even read the club site/or much anywhere about the new lads, as i've hardly been online since wednesday. I genuinely dont even know what his injury is...so its nothing to do with press release guff I saw he was signed and a few comments about him being injured. My post was a general opinion on signing an injured (young/low risk) player. Without even knowing what the injury is, im comfortable that a thorough medical will have been done and we are confident the injury wont disrupt our plans for him (which likely wont have been straight into the team anyway) To me it could quite easily be looked at in a positive light, in that it didnt put us off. We could have panic bought a fit available striker...but it's not how we operate. We'd done our homework on this lad and he's obviously someone we've wanted a while. We do a great job at identifying young/raw talent and gradually introducing them into the team. Im excited by him, but he will have plenty to adapt to/learn without even kicking a ball, so I dont see the issue here.

Could be something different to what we have.Though I wouldn’t be piling too much pressure/expectation on the lad as think he’s more one for the future.Hence the four year contract. He may however hit the ground running. One thing i did think was that if we continue to play 2 up top it maybe easier to get him into the team earlier than when playing just the 1.

Two up top means he should be straight onto the bench when he's fit, and almost guaranteed to get some minutes right from the start.
I think it would be a great way for him to get up to speed quickly.

Any DATM update on the ETA for this guy? Mid December apparently Presumably that's just 'post world cup'. I'm hoping he's actually fit before then and that's the first games he's fit for.

Do we know what exactly is the injury? Cyst on his knee. (genuinely, I don't know, but I seem to recall it being a knee issue)

Do we know what exactly is the injury? Fairly sure during a half time draw he said he had a small tear in his patella tendon.
