Quick and strong, but technically not that great yet. Raw, bags of potential but definitely behind both Ward and Rhodes at the moment.. Like a young Theo Robinson… Let's hope not, Theo had no control of his legs/feet - UTT.

Like a young Theo Robinson… Let's hope not, Theo had no control of his legs/feet - UTT. I remember looking back at the season review of 2009-10 when it got put on youtube, it was interesting to compare to what it felt like to watch at the time. With Theo, at the time he was a bit of a joke, a confidence player to a ridiculous degree whose highs were pretty spectacular and his lows just funny. His performance in that Wycombe 6-0 game is my abiding memory. But watching the season as a whole he was really composed when he wanted to be, and his minutes to goal record has probably only been bettered by Rhodes since. He scored 15 while mostly coming off the bench, only played about 20 full 90 games minutes wise. To think that after that, Clark paid a fee for Alan Lee, and signed Joe Garner on loan, who both scored 0 league goals the next season, while getting rid of Theo, what a daft choice

IF he does sign we'll have two of the top 5 u21 players from last season with the most goal contributions in all 4 divisions. Rudoni being the other.

It ballooned to one of their players and they started running at our full back.

Speaks a lot of sense in there I think that argument about being a one off with a higher potential ceiling due to raw physical capabilities could also apply to Kyle Hudlin (pardon the ceiling pun!)

the last young striker we signed from ipswich back in 2009 turned out alright, if there's anyone at the club who can relate to what simpson is going through is Jordan Rhodes. Fringe player at ipswich who went out on loan to various clubs. Came here and made his career with town. If pathways and player development is important to simpson and not just money, then town are in as good a position as any to sell him this dream.
Here's hoping this lad turns out to be another prime JR.

So chicken in the examiner saying Town have rivals for his signature who could be looking to hijack our move. Guess that won’t be hard for other interested parties.

Must admit I can see him being tempted for football reasons by Luton. Watch Adebayo and learn from him, wait until they sell him on and he's the ready made replacement. Lower profile club so likely less pressure on him.
Hope I'm wrong, mind. Or if I'm right I hope he's shit.

Watch and learn from 2 strikers at Town who have around 900 appearances and 300 goals between them or watch Adebayo at Luton who has around 150 appearances and 50 goals to his name. I know what I'd rather do. Not sure Adebayo is going anywhere any time soon either, not upwards anyway. Wardy and Rhodes however have limited time left.

This has the feel of his agent trying to get more by making it look like he has other suitors. Town will plough their own furrow so if he comes he comes, or not.

No doubt his agent will leave no stone unturned until he gets the right deal, for the tractor boys!

Luton are going to buy him after spending £2m on Carlton Morris? Along with the other strikers they have it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

"Plough their own furrow" with The Tractor Boys? I see what you did there! There may be some truth in that TBF. Difficult to know how many of these suitors are complete fabrication, how many are firm interest and how many are somewhere in between (i.e. tentative inquiries, or clubs that see him as a backup option in case their first choice falls through).

True, and I'm not saying that I think he'll necessarily go there. Just that I can see the appeal, particularly in a side that is likely to play to his strengths. As Baby Ate My Eight Ball points out though, they've just signed Carlton Morris (and Cauley Woodrow) in addition to the strikers they already have, so I am now inclined to think he was possibly a guy they looked at as a possibility rather than a top choice. Their squad is very top heavy, the pathway to the first team here looks much clearer. www.lutontown.co.uk/teams/first-team/

His job is to get the best deal he can for his client, and his client wants to leave his current club. If anything he'll be looking to screw them over more than anyone - he'll be putting pressure on them to release him.
