It's comical that on here you're either an apologetic, shrinking violet or have bags of self belief and be arrogant about it. No reason why you can't have bags of self belief and remain humble about it. Simpson saying Rhodes can learn from him is unnecessary, particularly when combined with his reputation amongst the Ipswich fans. Did you watch the video ? Up to the point that he mentioned Rhodes could learn something from him, but not after that. |

Saw him before the game and had a quick chat
He said he expects to have 15 goals by November and will be disappointed if Southgate hasn't made contact before announcing his squad. He said his strengths were his speed, power, finishing, heading, jumping, passing, tackling, dribbling and touch. He doesn't have any weaknesses

I haven't watched the video and if it had been available I wouldn't have watched it but I can confidently say I don't like this lad, he's too arrogant and I think he'll have a negative impact on some of our other awesome strikers and I'll most likely repeat this on a thread if he doesn't score but if he turns out to be good I'll probably say I think he's pretty decent

We really need to start using the /s to indicate sarcasm
For what it’s worth, I think strikers should be a little arrogant, just like goalkeepers should be a little eccentric, defenders should have a “squaddie” team / unit mentality etc

I have no issue with a striker having self confidence - when they have lean spells it’s that inner belief that will help.
Also remember he’s a 20 year old kid with limited media training so it’s one off the cuff remark that has been picked up on. If you bumped into most footballers you’d probably think they’re arrogant/ think they’re the dogs bollocks. There media training hides that
From memory Marcus Stewart had a confident swagger - didn’t harm him
