It’s Conor Malley from the trialists I’m most excited about. I’m reading good reports, Middlesbrough fans sad to see him go. I agree, he is the sort of player our B team setup is made for. 🤞 for us and him.

Living in Burnley I've had quite a bit of feed-back about Joel Mumbongo. General feeling is that he was strong but clumsy, hard to push off the ball but not a clinical finisher in a million years. None of the Burnley supporters who watched him (in the reserves and at Accrington) were surprised or disappointed to see him go.

He only made a handful of first team substitute appearances & in their reserves he scored 8 in 13 appearances.

Probably the most out of depth striker we have had on a loan?

Anyone know if this lad is still with the club and if so, what his situation is likely to be?

I’d be inclined to take a punt on a one year deal
He’s played at league one level (similar to our better prospects) and would be a low cost option
Also it would enable the b team to better mirror the playing style of the first team. Currently the b side lacks that physical presence up front. Playing the same system as the first team will benefit people like Diarra to come through

I think Ward is the closest (shame we didn’t land adebayo). Not tall but physically quite strong and works hard both on the press and to pull players out of position In the b team we only have falls as a striker - who is barely 18. I’m assuming Phillips is either loaned out again or part of the first team

I think we have been searching for a striker who fits that criteria for a while and I think adebayo would have been a really good fit at town. Once we sell O’brien I think we’ll try to sign a young striker on loan from the prem who hopefully fits that.
