Hes on $125000 a week in China until next year. Even if he is a free agent he ain't coming to town for 30k a week (that's even if we are willing to pay that these days). He was on 60k when he left.
Would definitely do a job at forest or even Newcastle/L666s/Southampton who could afford him. Last contract. The only thing that might get him to town again is if his Mrs tells him she'll divorce him if he doesn't play for town again. That could motivate him:)

Only played 23 times in two years for Shanghai too. No idea if he has been injured in that time though.

He wasn’t getting in a relegation threatened Brighton side a few years ago, so not so sure of the level of premier league interest. Only played 23 times in two years for Shanghai too. No idea if he has been injured in that time though. A number of reasons. Firstly, Shanghai had too many foreign players and there were restrictions on how many could be in a match day squad. Secondly, China shut the league down at one point to concentrate on World Cup qualification. Thirdly, China shut the country down including the football due to Covid and lastly Mooy left China so he could concentrate on WC qualification to not have the fear of being locked in. All in all, he has not played much, he’s been training on his own in Scotland. We missed a fit Mooy in our WC qualification and it wasn’t a surprise that when he started to play some he was looking back to his usual self. On possibly playing at Celtic with the ex-manager of Australia, I’m a fan of Celtic, but I don’t really see where he fits in without shifting a player out of a packed squad in the midfield. Celtic are after a DM of which we all know Mooy isn’t one. Wages wise, I’m pretty sure it was £100k. I don’t think even he believes he’s getting anywhere near that now. Might get £20k - £30k a week now, unless he gets a premier league spot, which I’m not really seeing. Took himself off the radar for the short term gain. Only 2 clubs in Scotland could afford that, both Glasgow clubs. I honestly think it will be the championship for him. Personally I wished he came here in the second half of last year because I believe with his quality we would have gone up.

Agree with you Teddington Ted but I will go further and say in 53 years of watching Town he’s the best player I have seen in a Town shirt ..

Can someone drop him a note and mention that the Huddersfield area is now heavily invested in hair restoration technology.
I’m not talking syrups here, this is bona fide stays on your head stuff…

Apart from Hoyle and Hogg, who would he know?
Things change so quickly.

I sort of agree, but it hard to compare with a different era. I too have long track record "of crushed hopes, shattered dreams and occasional euphoria" he is without doubt in the top 5, i can never stray far from the Frank Worthington admiration squad, he brought moments of pure genius to our fans oh and scored goals a plenty. I was young and easily impressed but he was good. Oh and Dean Gore was very special.

If it is, can only see a short term contract until the WC ends. Just to see him play for us again on a one match deal would be good enough for me. We could afford that.
