I seem to remember a large chunk of this board and the Town fanbase getting giddy last season when we signed Jordan Rhodes (the best centre-forward I've seen at Town) and were insistent that he'd be scoring for fun again (despite scoring the square root of sod all in the last few years at Wednesday and Boro). That went well.

If he's the same player he was, and ive not seen him play since he left Brighton, then he'd be the best midfielder in this division. Sort of thing that makes me think its a bit of a non-starter him coming back here because surely there'd be lower end PL clubs wanting him who would be able to pay him 3 or 4 times what we could. ( and money is a big factor for Mooy presumably going by his move from the PL to china )

My boro supporting next door neighbour claims Boro have tried to sign Rhodes off us this summer. Made us an offer which we turned down.

Congratulations. Bit odd you're on a Town site with a different teams initials as a username. Guess you've supported Golcar 25 years then..... Oh yeah, sorry, we can't have alternate views on your golden man can we? I gathered that all last week. All you did was defend him and state how you won't now have any ex player back. Seems you've lost touch with league football then

( and money is a big factor for Mooy presumably going by his move from the PL to china ) Think it’s about risk/reward. Would a PL team bother with him when he has played very little in the last couple of years? The 3 that went up, I can’t really see any of those taking a risk with him. A championship club on the other hand, I definitely can see it. The other side of the coin is Mooy needs as much game time as possible before the World Cup. The championship delivers that for him where it could be a risk at PL level.

No, all your posts are negative. You come on just to argue it seems. Go put that effort into the village getting to the league, they'd piss it No they're not. All I've said is that I don't want him, no argument, nothing, just a view (which last time I checked is allowed). I've probably seen 20 ex players return in my years watching Town and about three of them have lived up to their previous spells at the club. I want the club to show a bit of ambition and not just use the phone numbers in Dean Hoyle/Leigh Bromby's phonebook. That isn't "negative", it's the total opposite.  Also, I've got nothing to do with "the village". "I want the club to show a bit of ambition and NOT sign Aaron Mooy" 😂 You're even funnier than timmy

When he scored the goal that took us to the play off final? He scored four goals last season, hardly reminiscent of his previous spell was it? He started 8 games. He played a total of 817 minutes in the championship including the playoffs, which equates to 9 full games, which puts his goal average at a goal every 2.27 games.

I hate this thread.
Like the majority, I would love Mooy back. I'm actually a bit giddy at the thought of it to be honest, but it just isn't going to happen because the guy who pays the wages would rather pay himself that money than give us a bit of hope.
I just hope he doesn't end up elsewhere in the Championship. That would really fucking sting.

He played 28 games. League games only, he played 6 as a starter and made 18 substitute appearances. You're claiming he "played" 28 games(including cup), I'm guessing you're saying he played them, even of its as sub. So if play 20 games and 19 of them I've come on in the 89th minute, that's still "played a game?"

No, most of us would like to see him back here as he's the most intelligent and composed footballer we've ever seen in a Town shirt, and you don't lose that.

He played 28 games. Thats irrelevant though. You could play in every game but if its a minute in each it only adds up to half a game. For strikers, minutes per goal is what matters and by sounds of it Rhodes's was pretty good.
